TDV8 Engine Oil

Hello,

I have done a search & found that I need a 5W-30 synthetic oil meeting ACEA A1 or A5 spec!

However,

I have 20 litres of 5W-30 fully synth oil meeting ACEA A3-04 or VW 500 - 507 specs (longlife oil) sitting in my shed & was wondering what would happen if I used that instead?

Here's a ink to it, the Endurance III 5W-30

Can anyone shed some light on this please? (if you pardon the pun!)

Car has 111k miles with full history if that helps...

Thanks in advance,

Ivor. Free use of a Hawkeye diagnostic unit to anyone local!

That'd be good enough for me. But I never leave oil in for more than 10k miles anyway, regardless of service indicators or schedules, I just have this thing about old oil.

A lot of the specs on modern oils are about the additives for longevity with all these increased service intervals. It's synthetic, the right viscosity etc. Should be fine. Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

Many thanks , I have got a full service kit from Duckworths & that coupled with my new Difflock drain plugs will mean that i can do at least 2 full services for less than the price of one from a dealer! The one after this one will be a doddle!

It's good getting free oil - I feel like a Sheikh! Free use of a Hawkeye diagnostic unit to anyone local!

The chart lists green as a part synthetic (so all on it) rather than fully which would be orange?. Id only want to use fully not the cheaper part synthetic, just my 2 cents.
