When I bought my car, back in November, I noted that the bottom of the drivers side front indicator / sidelight unit was slightly damaged and not fastened at the bottom corner, near the headlight, properly.

unscrew the thumbwheel and take the unit out and look to see whats what..it is tight but very doable ... ..............................

maybe that or the threads have been stripped possibly or maybe the thumbwheel hasnt been done up properly..... ..............................

The easiest way to get to the thumb-wheel is to undo the circlip holding the inlet air pipe to the plastic bit in the wing and just bend the pipe back.
