That just seemed a bit too obvious. You're right I should check it.

Check the other cabin lighter/power points as well (not the trunk one, that is separate). That way you can check if it is fuse (none will work) or the front one. Not sure if your car has one in the back (console between the front seats) and/or in the cubby hole under the armrest like mine. 2006 Range Rover Supercharged, Zambezi silver, black laquer/jet interior and all options.

Only the one in the rear boot space is live with ignition off - but of course, you knew that already.

Not sure how old the OP's car is - but mine are all live all the time (or at least they were!)... One of them is never live at the moment... |

You don't sound very sure - can you nip out and break yours before I break mine - just to check?

I believe you have to remove the centre console finisher (the black bit down both sides of the gear stick, to get at it. There are three connectors on the underside of the accessory socket and it appears to be secured with torx bolts from underneath. |

Post 2005 models are also fused in the boot, right hand side cubby. If you've got the posh version (VSE) then they use an extra fuse for the 2nd set of sockets. Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

Many pre 2008 vehicles had the front power socket disconnected by dealers as a precaution as some fires had been attributed to the positive shorting out, you will need to dismantle the centre console to find it ( the centre connector removed and taped up) I believe there is a technical bulletin around somewhere that alludes to it |
