Keyfob

When I bought my 2003 HSE TD6 the buttons on my keyfobs were looking pretty nasty so I ordered a pair of blank keys from Ebay. After several attempts to cut the key properly they sort of work, only open the door with the key facing one way. Locksmiths blame their key cutting machine. Swap over the electronics, button pads and RFID but I still have the existing problem with one fob of a very dim LED and an inability to synch with the other fob/car. Changed battery several times. I do notice it glows to full brightness when fiddling with the unit out of its housing, maybe this is a clue.
So has anyone had this issue and did you solve it without buying new electronic gubbins?

Thanks
Adrian

I've used a Locksmiths in Chesterfield a few times for keys over the years.

Been going for over 30 years I think. WG Pollards 01246 274771.

They cut a key to code and posted it out last time, but that was for a Disco 2.

Worth a try.

Craig no amount of puckering will soothe the pain of spending nearly UKPds500 on a car key. Whether that includes the RFID or not I don't know.
I have been quoted just under NZ$1000 from the local stealer. Plus 3 weeks delivery from the UK.

Thanks
Adrian

Have you tried speaking to a UK dealer and ordering one directly from the UK yourself? I know you will have to prove ownership of the vehicle etc but there must be a way surely...
