Lower tail gate problem

Hi everyone,

I can't open the lower tailgate, it sounds like it's unlocking or releasing on the drivers side

But not on the left side, any ideas on how to solve this,

Really struggled today transferring stock,

Thanks in advance

Not sure on the fix, possibly need to adjust/lubricate the locks.

A work around though is that you can manually release the lower tailgate. if you slide you and down the edge of the tailgate towards the lock you can feel a paddle. Push (I think) this and the lock will release.

The motor gears for the lock solenoid have probably quit on the side that isn't making a noise Sad

It's not too bad a job if it has.

Take the top plastic trim off.
Then the 2hex bolts holding the outter lock to the lower tailgate on that side, note one holds the check strap as well!!
Then remove the carpet panel gently, I think it slides towards you a little (as your stood looking into the car)
Then the lock motor just needs disconnecting from the loom inside and new one plugging in and setting in.
Hold it in place as you place the outer black mechanism in place and then the first top bolt.
Just wind it in a bit and then do the lower one to hold things in and then tighten it all up Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Hey KP,

Actually I found a way of opening it for the moment. When I have opened the upper boot,

When I press the unlock button on the lower gate, I have to press the plastic clip just above the door lock,

U can see this when the lower gate is open, I was really struggling as I am always loading up.

After I do my titivating, then this is on my long list of things to do. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I have to do the manual unlock for both sides at the minute as both mine are not activating Sad FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
