How to fit an AUX socket?

I found a thread on another forum that suggests my radio tuner is OK to accept an AUX source and all I need is a cable from BMW Parts. I want to use my iPod Touch in the car as it will save me having to keep burning MP3 CDs.

Has anyone done this or know more about how its done?

Thanks Discovery 4 HSE

If its got an Aux out in the rear then yes thats what you could do.

My RR has a splitter switch which allows me to switch between the CD player and the Ipod lead. This is the only possible way as the stereo hasnt any other aux input. TDV8 HST Sport **Current**

I have one for my iphone and it works quite well round where i live, on a long trip it can be a pain as when going through an area with a similar frequency it has a tendency to bleed the station on to the music being played on the iphone, quickly changing the frequency sorts it out Thumbs Up

Be carefull though RRUK, your car is not a BMW model.

Why not go to the audio connectivity module?
Its expensive, but it integrates with the OEM system perfect. No cables, ability to retain voice commands, use of steering wheel switches, information on the screen, etc...
