fitting exhaust trims

hi all, had a little mod on my list, i wanted to add a set of tail pipes to my car, i looked around and was shocked as the price they were charging on ebay for what was in fact crap,
i done a little search and came across a company called custom chrome, they could make me just what i was looking for, i wanted a full trim in stainless with a rolled lip and to fit upto the back box.
i like the S/C look but felt they were a little short so i added 3" to my ones and then had the ends rolled.

they were a doodle to fit, i cut off the old tail pipe leaving around 2" off exhaust pipe from the back box, the trim fitted over snugly and came with a stainless steel clamp to hold it.

the trims are handed as they have a kick on them so they come out straight.

they turned out very well, and as i said i added about 3" to the lenght that brought them out level with the rear bumper, being stainless they wont start getting all pitted.

Would that be Custom Chrome of Nuneaton ?? They built me a complete stainless exhaust for my old Disco 2 in about 4 hours. Excellent work and good prices too.

They look really good, do you have a picture that's square on the back of the car?

Look fantastic daveo,

Are you planning to eventually weld them on? I'm just thinking that they 'may' want to swivel down over time.

Do they make any difference to the exhaust note? Java with Ivory 2006 4.2 Supercharged. 23.5k miles - NOW SOLD!

hi, yes i do park close to the kerb but with extreme care, it looks closer then it is.. i will put a few spot welds on them when i get a min but the are on quite tight...they do sound a bit different as thet are pointing out appose to pointing to the floor. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

hi thanks, the swirls are a sore point, i had a chap come and polish it and to get out a few marks, that was the worse thing i ever did, he made a total bulls up of it.it looked great when he did it apart from not getting out the marks but the next day when it was sunny it looked a total Censored job with more swirls on it then it ever had...the holigrame effect i think they call it...any way ihave a few more things i want to do to the car and will find some one who can do a propper job. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.
