It's similar to what I used as a finishing drill
Difficult to do by hand using a power drill and get it square.
Not sure you could drill a 16mm hole staight off by hand.
I used a bench pillar drill and started with a 3mm pilot hole and then went 6,8,10,12,14, and finally16mm.
The bench pillar drill also has the facility to stop tthe drill at the correct depth.

Thanks NDFI... Don't have technical kit like that... will have to buy the bit and come up with an innovative idea to keep the BMW adaptor still whilst I use brute force and skill to drill a steady centre hole! Confused

Do you have any engineering workshops near you? Sure someone could drill a hole for you. Previously..
