How about this post be made sticky so that owners can post their expericences with dealers, good or bad.

If you've had particularly good service, post it here. Likewise, if you wouldn't touch them with a bargepole and want others to know, stick it here (no defamatory remarks though- I'm sure their lawyers are watching!).

My only expericence to date is with Hunters of Derby. Very limited contact with them in that I asked them for previous history to the car as the service book is missing. To be fair to them, they did tell me over the phone what services it had(luckily for me, all of them to date). I have since emailed them thanking them and asking them to send copies of the services, but they haven't replied- that was a week ago.

All my gripes about LR dealers are specifically about Hunters (Derby). They are very friendly, and when you're in the dealer, the customer service is absolutely excellent. They are very bad at communications though. Promises to ring you back with info are made, I'm sure with good intentions, but never happen. I used to work round the corner, so just popped in when I wanted info, but now it's a little difficult. I know they made some redundancies recently, so maybe the staff are overworked. I know that the last few times I've been in, the Service Manager has been covering the desk.

I'd give them 8/10 when I bought the car (and about 3 months after) and 6/10 now.

As your cars are out of Warranty I'd get an Indie to come to you

I'd recommend Iain from Off Road Essentials he comes to you has all the right Diagnostic equipment his work well is second to none

He does Tunes , Servicing & Expo Prep work

Mine still has extended warranty on it. Only just run out of main LR warranty. Also got the next 2 services free (not including parts though, so could end up costing more than full service from an indie!)

Will be looking for an decent indie soon I think.

Hunters used to service my Disco and my TD6....I wouls give them 8/10.
