United Kingdom 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black
What sound system does a 2004 vogue have - HK or standard?

Hi guys I'm trying to figure out what sound system my car has, did the 2004 vogues come with Harmon kardon as standard or was it an optional extra?

I've attached a couple of pics of the various sound equipment that my car has - I can see a subwoofer?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

HK was standard on the Vogue. It was not labelled on the grilles on the early models. It was the logic 7 system that was an option later.

If you are in any way into your music, get the bm54 stage 2 amp upgrade from Baris. It's excellent.

You won't believe what the stock speakers can do.

The facelift models with the touchscreen had an upgrade to the earlier HK system, with upgraded speakers and amp.

Thumbs Up

The logic 7 HK system was available as part of the autobiography offering, which was not a model in its own right at this point yet ;

Cheers Stan.

Just had a read of that. It details that the HK Logic 7 system was standard from the facelift, though this is more of a US based write up. In the UK, the standard facelift car had an HK system now, with Vogue upwards having Logic 7 as standard, according to the UK sales brochure I have. The standard system was 320 watt, with the logic 7 offering 720 watt.

The HK system was standard on the Vogue from the beginning, with the extra Logic 7 bit available through the autobiography line. You can get the Harmon Kardon system with and without the Logic 7 offering.

The facelifts had the Logic 7 added as standard to Vogue and above spec. The early models did not, but both were Harman Kardon premium systems.

So, by deduction, only the non facelift early SE and HSE models had a non HK system. It was an option though.....

2002 to 2005
SE and HSE have non Harman Kardon sound system. (HK was option)

Vogue has HK system as standard (not Logic 7)

Logic 7 available as part of the autobiography line.

2005 Facelift
HK system now standard on all models.

Logic 7 now standard on Vogue upwards.

Speakers and amps upgraded compared to equivalent 2002 model year offerings.

Unnecessary quote removed

Thanks for the detailed info, yeh I am a bit if an audiophile and the current sound system is a bit of a let down to be honest. I have a Bose system in my other car (Porsche 911) and it's much better sounding than what's in the Range.

I used to have a HK system in a car I owned a few years back (e46 m3 convertible) and wasn't impressed with it back then either. I'm interested in this amp upgrade, who is Baris and where can I get the amp? 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 v8 LPG, Java Black, 22' Hawke Alloys, Black Beast

More info here ;

http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic10342....mp+upgrade

The system always sounded a little flat and lifeless as far as I was concerned. Whether in a 750i BMW or an e39 M5.

Baris is a member on here. You can always pm him.

You send him your amp, he changes the internal amp and you get it back 2 or 3 days later.

There are other upgrades available, such as firmware and aux connectors etc.

I had the stage 1 for nearly 2 years and got the stage 2 a couple of months ago.

I have a Linn hi-fi in the house......and a Bose wave radio for an alarm clock.

Linn is serious level hifi gear you know don't mess about!

Right i had a look at my cars speakers today and i have found all of the speakers shown in the speaker lay out diagram you sent apart from the 2 speakers right at the back of the car (the 2 that are shown further back from the subwoofers). Was that diagram for the sound system in 2004 cars? 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 v8 LPG, Java Black, 22' Hawke Alloys, Black Beast

Just a little info from me... The SE & HSE have non amplified stereo... The Vogue has HK (basic amplified stereo) and the AB has the all singing all dancing Logic 7 set up...

The easy way to tell if yours is the upgraded system (i see one in every 100 cars into us with the upgrade so must have been serious cash!) the upper tailgate plastic lower panel with the interior lights either side will have an extra two speakers in the top (visible from the tailgate window looking in) and the smaller door speakers will have the HK Logic 7 badges (as all touchscreen cars had as standard)

Hope that helps?

Dolphinboy here on this forum has a proper Autobiography with the upgraded system in so maybe able to help with more info? Thumbs Up

The diagram posted is from a PDF I have detailing the logic 7 system available as an option on the very early non facelift models, like mine.

The standard HK system in the early vogue has speakers in the same positions, but none in the tailgate. The speakers also are not "metal" and look quite poor to be honest if you remove one.

And as Craig points out, the non HK system is not amplified.

I'd really love to hear an early logic 7 system, not had the chance yet.

I'd also like to hear the system in a facelift car, as I've not heard one of those either. That would appeal to me more than the touchscreen to be honest.

I'd also like to get some of the later speakers and fit them in mine, to go with the stage 2 amp upgrade, but can't find any about. Craig has previously done upgrades in this area I believe.

Pretty happy with my system at the moment. Want it to keep looking stock.

Thumbs Up 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

The Logic 7 in the early AB cars and the standard fit in the touchscreen cars sounds the same to me. Incidentally they sound fabulous in either guise Thumbs Up Highly improved over the standard fit for the early models Thumbs Up

I changed all the speakers in my 2004 Vogue to the later Logic 7 speakers and it improved the sound no end Thumbs Up
