The Hybrid TV Tuners with the AC suffix should be okay for the 2005 Touchscreen, it should be a straight swap for your analogue TV unit. They do seem a bit pricey on the fleabay at the moment, £300 + is a fair bit more than I paid for mine.

Thumbs Up Thnks for that. I hate the phrase but what would a "ball park figure" price be for one of these?

Don't really know if there's a 'ball-park' figure for them, it's generally what people are prepared to pay for them, i.e. how much they are willing to pay for the units and how soon they want to get one.

I got mine off the fleabay last year for £240-00, including postage, but I looked for a while and just waited for the right priced one to come along.
I use mine quite a bit, when SWMBO's shopping, or when I'm at work (can pop out to the FF to tune in to the news, etc), so it was worth while for me to upgrade from the old analogue tv, which no longer worked.

Terry, if its any help on the price front I just sold one which was a similar to the one you are thinking of £250 via the for sale section to another forum member. I believed that that was a fair price, especially as mine was a newer model than the one you are looking at.

As has been said it like everything else it doesn't matter on the value of things its what you can get or are prepared to pay for them!!

good luck with your search.. Thumbs Up Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

There's a firm in Scotland who do upgrades to digital for the non-touchscreen FFRRs.

Link below

haven't used them, so can't vouch for the firm, but there's probably guys on this forum who've used them.

I did my 04 non touchscreen using these two:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FV002-Digital-Ca...2c61fc4448

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AV-Video-Audio-I...35cc0d02cc

Works well with the benefit of playing videos through a usb stick. Only drawback is mono sound Rolling Eyes

I can also recommend PMA in the above link got an upgraded aerial from them great service Thumbs Up

Can you upgrade a non-touch screen to a touch screen on a 2003 Vogue SE? And what's the newest map available for a non touch screen? Tym

If it sticks, force it. If it breaks, it needs replacing anyway.

You won't be able to upgrade a non-touchscreen to touchscreen as the systems are different on the 05 onwards FFs. 05 onwards use the fibre-optic MOST system and Denso satnav units which the older FFs don't have, the older FFs use the BMW satnav system. You could upgrade the sat nav using the BMW systems, but don't know how easy or expensive it would be.

You should be able to upgrade the maps quite easily though, search ebay, etc., for info. on CD maps.

Also have a look at the Bimmernav website, they do upgrade stuff mainly for BMWs, but also do stuff for 02-05 FFRRs, as they use the BMW kit and it can be swapped into the older Rangies (pre- 05MY)

Hi

Thanks for that. The only reason I asked is I have the Denso in my X-Type and I quite like it . My FFRR doesn't have post code entry...

(getting Sygic into my FFRR wold be PERFECT!)

PS. What's the MY bit? Tym

MY stands for 'Model Year'

The FFRRs were upgraded for the MY05 versions, when Ford took over from BMW. The first upgrades were the change to the Fibre-optic MOST Denso touchscreen satnav system and Harmon Kardon systems, which came in on the mid 54 plate vehicles (around November 2004, I believe). This was then followed by a facelifted version and then the change of engines / gearboxes to Jag AJV8 petrol and diesel versions.
