Now guys...This is the latest fad in good old Ireland. Convert your Range Rover to a camper van by adding a 'cooking~storage pod' in the rear, and you qualify for 102 euro annual road tax as opposed to 1,809 euros....Some people will always find a loophole!

Very good. And those wheels nearly fit under the arches !

Not usually a fan, but that makes caravanning look like an option Whistle

That's all you need really, a hob and a sock drawer...... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Can this be done. I was planning on taking the Land Rover to France in the Summer for camping so converting it too a camper would be great.

Seats and cheap tax.

Is it possible?

Smart idea! Thumbs Up

I really can't believe it. Carrying a camp stove saves almost £2000? Shocked

It works better with seats already in place as these vehicles have had the VRT already paid....Motorcaravans are liable to VRT, so if you convert a van to a motorcaravan, you are liable to pay VRT to revenue...however, if your car was initially operated as a private vehicle and had its VRT paid, then you have no problems. It has to be done correctly and professionally and approved at an ATC centre. 2008 Range Rover TDV8 435,000kms

VRT more than likely would be liable, depending if my RR was imported as a commercial or passenger.

Is insurance more difficult? Does one only require a cooking/ storage pod?

If I manage to VRT @ 13.3 % that's still not to bad.

Took the family for an Easter Sunday drive over the gap of Dunloe mountain pass. What a brilliant machine the full body is for this purpose.....A prime example of the Range Rover in its natural habitat...

Nothing like a new set of original Land Rover 20'' wheels.....and Pirelli Scorpions to improve matters....

This car is definitely pushing out a lot more power than its stock 177bhp and 410nm. It feels more like 230~240bhp and 550nm. I did 300 miles yesterday on the motorway....cruise set at 90mph....stormed past everything in sight and............. .

Anything to report on the tranny after the tweaks?

they have clamped down on this now. and re written the wording defining camper vans and day vans etc so dont think you can do this now
