My D3 with a big trailer on a bigger trailer after the clutch failed on the M4 toll near the Severn bridge on the way back from Southampton after collecting the boat. The AA were so helpful, the bus transporter was a nice touch, they shipped the whole lot to Pembroke.

Oh dear how depressing for you , I was just wondering , how much weight is their in that boat and trailer? 2006 MY FFRR Vogue TD6

I concede defeat in the biggest trailer contest.

Going back in time just a little, the biggest I have towed is a twin axle Ifor Williams grossly over-loaded with a large Ford 4 wheel drive tractor on board - total gross weight around 6000kgs - private road only and max speed 30 mph. The tractor weighed close on 4.75 tons

Oh and not forgetting the tow car - a RR Classic back in the early 1990's - she handled it well!

Some of the very early RR Classics were rated for 6 tons towing with specially equipped close coupled brakes and reduced towing speed - think the max was 35mph.

I regularly tow a livestock trailer fully loaded with beef with the L322 - all up 3500kg or around 4000kgs if on private roads - easy and don't even have to use the low box to get going.

I live beside one of the roads that leads to the new Stirling Mart and it amazes me that more D3 and RRS's belonging to farmers don't get stopped at the nearby VOSA vehicle check as with an Ivor Williams livestock trailer behind full of prime cattle they must be very close to the max weight permitted. When I was there a couple of weeks ago I counted 14 Disco3's and 4's and 4 RRS's parked in the car park, most with IW beasty trailers hooked up behind - most of those farmers used to drive tractors or Shoguns to the old Kildean Market so money must be better in farming these days than it was 4-5 years ago................... I suppose if the farmer goes in his D3 or RRS the whole family can go along too, difficult in one of those big modern tractors I see rushing along the Kerse at 45mph with a big livestock trailer behind them! Now the FFRR has morphed into a 2012MY RREvoque Dynamic Lux Plus Auto SD4 Coupe in Fuji White with full ebony interior

That is pembroke docks In the background. I only had the d3 3 months when this happened, One of 17 breakdowns in two and half years - sold it before the warranty expired.

The boat only weighed 2.3 tons and the trailer under half a ton. Mind you the boat was 27 foot overall and the trailer added another 5 or 6 feet. Having to back it out of a petrol station onto a main road in Wexford was fun. The boat wouldn't fit under the canopy in front of the station.

fantastic Thumbs Up its amazing how much weight those IW trailers will take, the tri-axle ones are even better now and a lot more stable

yes im running 285 50 20 cooper Ltz tyres and on the supercharger wheels i needed 5mm spacers on front to stop tyres rubbing on struts. The 2010 wheels have a larger offset and fit without spacers.

Crikey, now this is what I call a caravan. Shocked Shocked

Must be the longest I've ever seen. Would look rather Cool behind a FFRR

The only thing a caravan looks good behind is a falling tree. Cool
