Input video source into MY10.5 dual screen headunit

Guys, I have a MY2010.5 touchscreen nav with dual screen. There is no DVD player in the rear with it having gone missing before purchase....

I want the kids to be able to watch something on the dual screen on the way to school / nursery, is there an input that would allow me to plug something like my Ipod (to screen films from my ipod / ipad) to the screen?

What about this cable...

http://www.disco3.co.uk/shop/index.php?act...oductId=34

Can it be set up to allow me to plug in and send the pic to the screen?

Thanks again knowledgable ones...!

Sorry, no RSE but has the silver metal casing where the DVD would have been and a cable in it, does that help?!

OK so your car never had a DVD then and wont have the loom or controle unit .
Some one on here did rerto fit all of that to his wifes D3 so it is posible , can't say I have ever heard of that pice in the Disco forum but I guess you use the 753 hack to access vidio test and then put a vidio feed in via that cable . 2008 MY Supercharged

Ah ok. So dual screens only work with the TV!?! Does the 6cd changer in the glovebox possibly allow DVD input into the dual screen if you don't have RSE ?!

No, that's a CD autochanger. The DVD unit went in the NSR quarter in the boot.

So if you don't have RSE all you get in the MY10 Vogue SE is TV as a source, no video or DVD capabilities at all?!?

As the guilty party who carried out the RSE retrofit in the D3 your request can be achieved but not without a fight! For the complete factory solution read my write up as a guide but the problem will be sourcing the parts Shocked

It may be possible to connect a video source directly to the touch screen but that would depend on the input connections, somebody wiser than me may be able to confirm if the dual view screen has the standard 3 fakra inputs. If so then widely publicised 753 hack would work but the source would be visible to all Whistle

For the dual view to operate as it should you would need the DVD function enabled in the CCF with a Faultmate or other suitable tool, this would then allow you to select the DVD source on the screen and then select the dual view option!

This just leaves the small issue of the video source audio..................that's where it all gets complicated without the full retrofit Embarassed and the easier solution of an iPad or two should be considered Rolling Eyes
