Not this summer - weather's been awful. Worst I've known it in 11 years. Those pictures were taken during maybe the only sunny day. Sad

That looks seriously fantastic! Bow down

I'm having a two-tier deck (or dick... Wink ) constructed at home and have recently become somewhat anal regarding decking wood and oil.

I'm no expert, so have to ask two basic questions which your previous posts don't appear to have answered, namely what wood is your deck and what oil have you used on it? Si. <This is my name.

Ok, I haven't answered those questions as I don't think anyone has asked. Smile

The wood is IPE.

Fasteners.

Oil.

The decking frame was regular treated exterior tanalised wood which I oiled where it was cut.

Apart from the tanalised wood, which I bought locally, I bought it all from silvatimber.co.uk as they were very price competitive, gave lots of advice and were charming to deal with. Thumbs Up

Thanks! Thumbs Up

I've got different wood (yellow balau) and oil (Liberon) but I gather Ipe is considered the very best. Si. <This is my name.

That yellow balau looks nice. I think most hard woods would be excellent.

I wanted something that looked good with the Jatoba I have in my house.

Loverly decking / flooring wood Ipe , I floored my whole house with it back in Scotland and would just love to do it again here .
Interestingly when I started the project it was one of the cheapest character tropical hard woods for flooring and by time I finished it was the most expensive . 2008 MY Supercharged
