a group buy for you would still be good as you would have to buy it? the fitting is an option....

pics wise..... not much to see, a smaller box replaces the large cd box with a usb cable coming out that the fits into your iPod....

Very interested in this as cd player packed up
a couple of months ago.I take it thats £388.00
all in supply and fit. Just have to get some cash
together and see if one of the kids has a spare
ipod. Does it sound good through the system?.

I'm very interested in one of these (assuming it would be suitable for a 2006 SC). Thumbs Up

It would be good to see a video of the unit strutting its stuff.

Hi, I couldn't help but notice that your thinking of swopping the CD changer for an Ipod interface with Blue tooth, I fitted something similar to my 2004 ffrr. Its made by Grom, and cost me around £130 all in. There were however some costs that could have been reduced.
The kit is for an HSE RR (dont worry, its from the US of A, and the don't have Vogues there!) and uses the BMW X5 trunk adaptor kit. this is all good and fine, but what they don't tell you is the kit does not install in the trunk (boot), it fits in the space taken up by the CD changer. So not armed with this information I ordered the kit from 'carputer-shop' (add .co.uk), with the Ipod lead for the BMW trunk install. Net result I've got a 4.8 meter lead to go from the glove box to the centre consul, I think that it might be a wee bit too long!
As for the unit, I did have some teething issues, but the UK supplier was very helpful with tec backup. I would say that the functions on my setup are very basic, but it does what it said on the tin. I can play music from the Ipod via the lead and charge it at the same time. I can also stream music over Bluetooth, and I can receive calls from the phone, all from the steering wheel!
But the unit will only handle 1 Bluetooth sauce at a time, so no bluetooth music and phone calls for me as I have a Sony phone, D'oh!
All the kits out there seam to replace the CD changer, its an easy hook up point for the interface. There are 1 or 2 kits that integrate into the car with out loss of CD, I'm pretty sure that the L/R is one, but they are stupidly expensive.
The Grom BT3 works, and I think that you get a lot more control over the Ipod with the touch screen head unit. Not sure but I think you may even get Voice control for out going, I've got to use the phone for that bit Sad Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Had mine fitted today. Sounds really good,
better than i had expected. Haven't had time
to play as had to get back to work, but
impressed so far.
Dave.
