Main Dealer Too Good

Well dealers get such a bad right up I thought I'd share a truly uplifting experience.....

STRATSTONE @ STOURBRIDGE

I wanted to put the rangie into transport mode for the container ride to Oz, I phoned up
Stratstone and spoke to a great service adviser Kelly W who was most helpfull and could not do enough
to help.

Dropped in on Friday car was put into transport mode no hassell no fuss and best of all no charge

took the rangie to the shipping company by this time it was late Friday afternoon and shock horror
it was to low for them to get into a container **$$££"" Ziggy was not a happy chappy. So late Friday
afternoon no car,and shippers refusing to have anything to do with it at its present height

What to do apart from keep my hands in my pockets and let the cook do the talking.........

Phoned up Stratstone again, with a please help .......and well another service adviser Julie A who was just great
she moved things around in the workshop so I could get the rangie in Monday morning to be taken out of transport mode

So back at Stratstone Monday met Julie rangie straight into the workshop all put back to normal after a bit of fuss with the computer and again very professional very helpful we even got a cup of tea......and again no charge

So all in all a great experience with Stratstone

Many thanks to Julie,Kelly and the workshop Tech Rusty

There will be more said on the shippers when I have the rangie home in Sydney

Great to hear positive dealer stories as well sometimes.

Sorry to hear the shipper didn't know how to deal with this. They must get superlow sportscars as well at times. How the heck do they deal with that ??????

I made a set of wooden ramps that would probably have been fine for this type of work. It worked for my big heavy GMC van completely stuffed, probably weighing close to 3 tons. Just thick (about 2 inch/50 mm) planks with blocks every 30/40 cm to eliminate bending/cracking. You can make those quickly and I bet shippers have something like that or they should.

Otherwise, using a forklift in a slightly creative way (wooden block on/suspension or frame hard points ??) and in it goes.

The shipper probably didn't have their smart foreman around, who has done this heaps of times or they are just Censored scared of any liability. Not sure whether I would have been able to keep my mouth shut................... MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Find out the name of your ship and have a play on this site , I tracked my containers all the way and it was good fun . The tracking is turned off near Somalia Shocked Laughing and you will probably change ships around Singapore .

Cheers digger I will check it out when I find out the ship. After chasing them we were told it went into the container on Wednesday Laughing details will follow Rolling Eyes

I would't trust them to move a paper clip from on desk to another in the same office
