Most common issue is water in the boot. Seals are pants on the early ones, and still fairly pants on the later ones.
Oh yes that rings a bell. When was it 'fixed' properly? Graham

Well, I gave it a miss.... and.... bought a Z4.... Whistle

Pity I missed Gary's one(s) a few weeks ago. Grey with red leather. It's gorgeous, picked it up today, 120 miles in the rain coming home Sad so it's all grubby

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Zermatt Silver

23i sDrive (2500cc) - thanks to WBAC

My wife had the older Z4 in 3 litre hardtop coupe sport version - an absolute blast to drive Mr. Green

She was gutted when we found out you couldn't turn off the passenger airbag and hence it had to go when our little boy arrived (on the upside, it was my excuse for buying a ffrr!) 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

Yes, it's a lovely 200bhp straight six. Growly exhaust and very smooth, it's a great engine, plenty of power but not bonkers. BMW now discontinued it in the Z4 and replaced with a horrid rough old 4 cylinder turbo thing that feels completely wrong.

Insurance was surprisingly reasonable at £91. Graham

2 horror stories from friends. Can't remember all the ins & outs, but along the lines of....

1) bought an SL 55 from Saxtons, air suspension + something else
I can't remember. It was a 4k bill from Mercedes , they basically said it was unsafe

2) had a SL500 for a number of years, cost £30k. no issues. Took in for a service, Merc
Said it needed 7k of repairs, electronics , gearbox issue
Uneconomic to do it, sold to "we buy any car" £5.5k !!

I love them , but like the FFRR, plenty of toys to go wrong Whistle
