Fuse Box Conundrum . . . .

OK - here's a good one for you lecky types . . .

Whilst attempting to install a new replacement reversing camera, I checked the rear fuse box to discover of the SIXTEEN available, THREE were of the correct rating ( Shocked ) - that's fuses of 5,10,15,25 & 30 amps.
A head count of all the fuses present revealed the correct numbers of each rating when compared to the handbook diagram, yet most of them mixed up ?

I 'phoned my specialist who had not seen that before . . . .
The car functions perfectly . . . .

What to do ? - assuming my handbook is correct for my model year (which it appears to be) and the rear fuse box lay out has not changed . . . . . Question

Ideas welcome !

Ta V Much -

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

The way I would do it.
1. Check handbook is correct for year.
2. Check inside of fusebox lid for the map.
3. Test a circuit by seeing what stops working when a specific fuse is pulled. Then try another 2 or 3 to be sure.
4. Once I'd determined the correct map or legend for the car I would set about correcting them.

Yours being a 4.4 and 2006 is one of the rarer variants. I would imagine it would be the same as a 2006 S/C but that's a guess. You need to test it to be sure.

I'd agree with that...there seem to be a lot of variations between the fusebox layouts and the handbooks with all model years between 2004 and 2008.

Could be that you have a crossover variant fusebox layout and an older or maybe newer handbook version.

All very confusing, so best to check the fuse ratings with the legends on the fuse panel, then check against the corresponding legends (not layout number) in the handbook.

There is also a possibility (remote but concievable) that there could be a higher rated fuse inserted to run a lower rated item of kit, this could cause all sorts of problems in the event of failure/overload of bits of leccy kit.

Thankyou gentlemen ^
Alarmed to find there are different fusebox layouts !
Surely there can't be thirteen out of sixteen fuses in the wrong slot ?

Oh welcome to the world of Land Rover where anything's possible Laughing

Yes, conceivable but more likely to be the wrong list/handbook for what's actually fitted to the car. Like I said, pull a fuse and see what it applies to. That would tell you for sure.

I concern with the above posters. To have ALL the fuses wrong on a car that is working would be an interesting coincidence.

+1 for what Stan says, if its giving you no issues don't go messing with it.

Thread resurrection . . .

My fuses in both front & rear boxes correspond with the schematic diagram on the box lid.
I can only assume my owner's handbook is the wrong one for my car.

Could any of you good people check yours for me please ?

My car is an 06 MY AJV8 4.4 - '55 reg.
The rear of the book states "Land Rover 2005", with the Publication Part No. LRL 10 02 55 602.
The illustrations on the cover & inside are of a facelift car as mine is.

So, if you own either a Td6, SC or one like mine with a 6A in the VIN, I'd appreciate it if you'd have a look for me -

Cheers ! Where do you go after one of these . . . ?
