Update
They can't decide to either ship it back for repair or have a look in Paris.
Over here I have a quote from a gearbox center in Twickenham of about £2200 with a two year warranty or a local landy specialist for £2600 with a 12 month
Just noticed Warranty expires at 130,000 hope not gone over that!! Mine was a blue one! Smile

Do you know where in Paris? I work here so if you need any checks,as long as its near a Metro/RER station as I don't have any transport here (apart from a bike and I keep falling off that!)

Update
It finally arrived with half an hours warning last Tuesday.
I insisted on checking it over as they just wanted a neighbour to sign for it so driver had to wait two hours. Glad I did I found a new deep scrape in the offside rear wheel rim and a cut in the tyre to go with it, Over the weekend noticed a dent in the roof but probably to late to do anything about that, pity they fumbled it at the end because the response at the time was very good and they got me the family and the dog home from Paris all in one long day.
Not going to the "specialist" in Crewe who did it last time as i have never been 100% convinced it was right and had to claim the Torque convertor under warranty last year. Going for the cheapest repair I could find so its going to Birch 4x4 in Liverpool anybody used them?
They do free local collection but I am a bit far for that so they put me in touch with someone who would transport it for £100 which I though was fair.
Anyway it's being collected today. Mine was a blue one! Smile

They have diagnosed failure of the torque converter with that causing damage to the speed sensor and the lock up clutches. Again the saga of getting money out of Warranty Direct begins. I have asked the garage if I can have the torque converter back as I might try to claim of the garage who repaired the gearbox last time.

Good news is I might get it back early next week. Mine was a blue one! Smile

Should be fixed price at £1200 not sure about vat Gaz
but I will have to see in the end better than £3k last time! Warranty direct should cover the labour and half the parts. (fingers crossed)
Just want it done so I can look at getting shot unless I keep it over the winter now and see if the new one lower's Freelander prices. Mine was a blue one! Smile

Got to pick it up this morning just realised it's taken 6 weekes to sort! had a blast up the M56 all good, seems to tug a little bit against the brakes when in drive but stationary at junctions I will put that down to newness!

The garage has let me keep the bits as evidence as I go after the previous repairer for compensation. The torque converter siezed which has then broken the oil pump outer into three bits I can post photos if anybody would like.

The mechanic has also said he thought that the clutches used in the previous rebuild were cheapest you could get. I wouldn't know either way but he has no reason to say they were poor quality.
I prevously said Autolock in Crewe were alright if expensive but I think we can forget that. See how they feel about paying out. Whistle

Will give a shout out to Stuart at Birch 4x4 Liverpool the place is a Censored hole and is really in the back end of town He had two FF's and two Disco's in. I felt he did a good job for a fixed price of £1200 plus £150 for the torque converter and is a nice chap with it. Only slight problem is he's not vat registered which has caused a slight issue with my warranty provider. Mine was a blue one! Smile

Well I did start a new thread after info on a fault code but the latest gearbox saga.
Had the car back a week from having box done, got a faulty injector sorted Saturday running 100% just decided to give it another 12 months when, setting off from some traffic lights gave it a little gas when bang from underneath still got drive and seem to have gears but it's as if limited drive is being transfered to gearbox Censored Censored Censored just had it collected and shipped back to garage. Lovely vehicle but so very fed up with Landrover I have never had one without issues had a Hyundai Tucson for four years 85k miles never opened the bonnet other than to check oil, think for sale by the end of the month.
My MG is more reliable! Mine was a blue one! Smile

I'm really sorry to hear that you have such bad luck with the gearboxes. I think it is time to upgrade to something more reliable like a ZF boxed FFRR (either TDV8 or one of the petrols) because this particular car seems to have more than just the gearbox going wrong.

My guess is that there is something that is chewing up the boxes, something in the engine/drivetrain/cooling system or whatever but definitely not right.

Do you have any idea whether this car has ever been in a big crash and maybe there is a twist in the body that puts additional strain on the drivetrain or something with the diffs or engine mounts or whatever. This is absolutely not normal that you have that many boxes in such a short time. There must be other factors causing it I would think. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!
