Hi all. I've got the rumbling from the torque convertor. I've had the oil and filter done a few months ago which cured it till now.

+1 neil smith great bloke, serviced mine a few weeks ago. told me they were rebuilding 2 gm gearboxes a week at one stage. not too far for you

Mine was 12 months and he replaced all my valves the guts and t/c the whole kaboodle inside pound notes talk better 😏mine was 1400 I think _____________________________________________________

Talking of Birch 4x4 in Liverpool, if you go on eBay and find their 'auctions' for Range Rover transmission rebuilds you’ll see they show this photo of a ZF 5HP24 in pieces :

If it is shifting smoothly then I would leave it, you will find that the oils and filter change will make smoother in any case, so do that first and see how it feels. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Having just joined this forum and made maximum use of the 'search' function ( ), I gave those guys a call this morning (just to discuss the gearbox oil flush/change and filter mod), and found them incredibly helpful and informative, so many thanks for that. Full newb (to this LR forum) intro to follow later. |
