Heated seat not working

These things always happen when the weather changes!

Pressed the heated seat switch this morning and the two lights came on for about 5 seconds then went out. Tried several times and does it over and over.

Is it the switch or the seat that's at fault?

TIA

It may not be related, but earlier this year the drivers seat on ours stopped working completely, the fuse had blown but replacing the fuse caused that to blow as well. Turned out to be a break in the wiring loom under the seat which was caused by the forward/ backward adjustment on the seat.

Could be a break in the wiring.

Was the break easily identified? I have the same symptoms! Previous cars:
S-Max 2007-2013 (only diesel I've had, good car but expensive when diesely bits go wrong, so what's the point?)

Ours went in to the dealers to be fixed, took them a day to find where the break was. I had a feeling that it would be where the loom is sort of looped under the seat, and it was!

Have you checked for wiring and connector as sometimes connectors come loose underneath the seat.

Otherwise check the wiring of the actual heating pad for continuity. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

My seat had stopped heating or cooling a couple of weeks ago and I was getting ready for the inevitable expensive repair Sad read this and as I know absolutely nothing about cars or electrics stuck my hand under the seat and had a little rummage around, found what felt like a loose connector, pushed it in and now have a fully working heated and cooled seat again Thumbs Up made my weekend Laughing

If your light comes on for around 5 secs that means the circuit is broken... i.e. something is unplugged or a broken wire Thumbs Up
