I don't mind doing a few reds and blacks followed by some après ski and tour reps lol

Not sure it would make it over for the trip though lol, maybe if I flat bedded it lol

Well even though i cant drive it i woke up to ice covered windows today so thought i'd give the park heat a try off the fob.

Amazingly even though she hasn't had power for nearly two months even off a trickle charger due to the duff battery being removed it appears this system worked perfectly and was still synched up to the remote fob Smile

20mins later the interior was toasty and all windows defrosted!

Turned it off and let the ctek do its work but i am mighty impressed that this worked without a hitch, the FBH didnt even make a lot of smoke! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Latest error list from the faultmate Smile

Quote:

THE DDE4 TD6 FAULT CODE MEMORY CONTAINS CODES FOR THE FOLLOWING FAULTS -:

P1180 - LOW SIDE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR PLAUSIBILITY (FUEL FILTER). PRE-DELIVERY PRESSURE BELOW STARTING REQUIRED PRESSURE.

P0380 - GLOW PLUG RELAY FAILURE. GLOW RELAY DEFECTIVE. (CURRENTLY ACTIVE, INTERMITTENT)

P0191 - RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR OFF-SET TEST (RDS). (INTERMITTENT)

P0101 - AIR FLOW METER SENSOR MALFUNCTION PLAUSIBILITY FAILURE.

The glowplug relay i cant be sure about until i get the rough running sorted out but it could also be a glowplug causing the error if memory serves me right Smile

I think my stating issue is related to P1180 so need to look at why thats showing is low

P0101 is likely from the air pipe being off so much

P0191 is maybe related to P1180 so have to work through the list as the fuel flows into the engine.

The LP pump isnt that old so the filter will be binned first of all as part of its service.

and some videos for light entertainment..

FINALLY!!

Some success!

Whilst looking at the engine issue my infotainment started to play up :/

A round of firmware flashes didn't resolve the issue so I began to think that one of the rear units was toast and the only way would be to borrow some units for testing.

Anyway i spotted a dirt cheap 2010=> BT module going uber cheap as the casing was damaged.

For the price I thought what the hell and snapped it up.

Its now loosely fitted in the rear of the FF and the infotainment has sprang back to life Very Happy

I've enabled nav on the move as well but it would take a much greater mind than mine to disable the stupid warning acceptance screen on bootup ( I think the person who can do this onto an upgrade DVD could easily sell them for £30 a pop and make a fortune worldwide without even having to update the maps!)
3D maps have been enabled as well which I hadn't noticed before and I tested the system thoroughly with some JayZ & Linkin Park tracks :

I have ordered a fuel rail pressure sensor for £75 from Stratstone Bury. Despite many many issues I've had with stratstone in the past i thought i'd give them another chance. I ordered it nearly 2 weeks ago now and its still not shown up and they are apparently chasing their courier... I think someone in management saw it being sold for that price after i'd paid for it and put the stoppers on it and just wont admit it. No skin off my nose as it will just sit on their shelf for a few more years and i'll go and order the part from BMW instead for a much more sensible price.
Its the same part for the old td4 freelander (2006<) but has been revised twice i believe now and is much more compact a unit so requires removal of the rail which isn't a big job really, about 30-60mins depending on the weather and how slow i work Smile

Fingers crossed things get better! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Well I still haven't done the fuel rail pressure sensor but hoping to get to it this weekend!

I had a few minutes this evening so did a quick swap on a on that's been bugging me for ages! Tailgate struts that were lazy and failing.

Now replaced and it now opens and closes superbly so no propping up anymore. Next hit of work on the tailgate will be two or three small holes to drain water out being cleared fully and the lower tailgate release bits sorting but that can wait a bit more!!

Not bad for £15 and literally 5mins work if that Smile

Well time for an update!

Recently the work undertaken on the car has been;
Replacement HPFP
Replacement of 4 injectors( so 6 fully refurbed ones fitted now)
Replacement passenger side wing mirror housing
Replacement rear drivers side light cluster
New Airfilter
New Fuel Filter
Fresh MOT

All fault codes cleared and checked again yesterday with only 2 faults logged so far.

Things that are going to be done.
Oil and filter service using Mobil 1 Fully Synth 0w40 New Life oil (ordered 2*5Litre tubs so plenty spare!)
Replacement glow plug controller/relay for one that appears to have failed(the above 2 faults logged)
Get my head around flashing the ECU's so i can enable NAV on the move and get all the ECU's upto date
Workout where the hell speakers 5&6 are as they are reporting intermittently not being there..
Replace Pass door lower moulding as the rubber is coming away slightly
Replace wing mirror covers with full covers
get the above 2 things painted up and fitted
Paint up the rear arches after rust treatment work done to prevent it in the future
Attend TONG!!
Get the car detailed over a long weekend/week and then put him up for sale
Close his twitter account

Now one thing i had done a while back was get the intank pump unit replaced.
I have since taken it out and tested it on the bench but the other day when the tank was just under 1/2 full i got the air in the fuel lines issue and limited power.
Luckily i have a spare unit and will fit this if it happens again but as i was in a rush i just whacked some BP Ultimate diesel in as it was all the garage had left although it was £1.45/litre Shocked Shocked so more than 1/2 a tank of that was far from cheap!

Preiously before she came off the road she had an oil service but due to its age and being sat for long periods i'm not taking the chance. The old oil will get used in the XM anyway so it not entirely wasted and it will be nice to see what it comes out like Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Still waiting for the sodding d2s bulb to arrive to fit to the FF, and also scouring for a decent priced rear wiper motor assembly Sad

Waiting for a day that bodyshop man is free and then it can go get that done, then its off for a few days with the detailer to look spick and span! I'll even be taking the Mantec off so it can be polished up nice Very Happy

May need to fit the replacement intank pump as i've seen some bubbles on the fuel filter outlet pipe and know for sure its gonna be the intank pump again. Not a big job just a PITA job!

Will need to get the faultmate out to help drain the tank. So much easier to use that than cycle the ignition switch to fire the low pressure pump... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Well time for another update!

The car has had some paint,
The grille is back to standard,
The D2s bulb has been replaced,
the sidelights are now LED's,
the front caliper has been free'd off(passenger side) due to sticky slider pins,
The drivers rear caliper has been replaced
The front passenger disc has been replaced incase of warpage,
The intank fuel pump didn't need replacing in the end, i think it was just settling back into being used again as no bubbles since(TOUCH WOOD!)
The boot has no rust spots now Very Happy
The arches have been hosed out again so as to help keep the road salt away as well as the underside of the car,

A pillar trims have been pushed back down due to the buzzing at speed i was sometimes getting

Upgraded BT unit has been soldered onto its power connector joins and electrical tape used to secure it as it looks a lot neater than tie wrap!

Rear wiper motor still needs replacing
front light units cleaned out and looking great!
Oil service done at 149400miles
Ticked over 150000miles this week so 26000miles in my stewardship.

Jobs soon are,
Diff's again as not been done since when i got the car over 3 years ago now i think!
Brake fluid to be flushed out as dont think this has ever been done other than a top up when caliper replaced.
And possibly coolant ready for the winter and its next owner Smile

Oh and Chrome wing mirror caps fitted as well as i couldn't get bonnatti grey ones Sad Maybe when the car is detailed i can get them dulled down in some way....

Exhaust hangers are going to be straightened as well as they seem a little off, and the backbox sprayed up again as i think its starting to look tatty. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
