Can hear a strange clicking sound from under passenger seat. Sounds like a relay it goes on for a few minutes. L322 vogue TD6 2003. Any ideas what it could be New L322 Owner -

Is it a consistent ticking noise or a random clicking?

There is the body control unit under the passenger seat BCU, but I have never heard any clicking sounds from mine. Had a TD6 for 6 years and the only clicking or ticking sound I ever heard would be the fuel pump located under the car by the passenger side rear wheel. This I suppose could appear to sound like its coming from under the passenger seat. Maybe the fuel pump is more noticeable/noisy when the car is 1st started.

Random clicking. Noticed it when I was sat in traffic about ten minutes after starting car. It sounded like it was under passenger seat but could have been misheard New L322 Owner -

Well I can only think its the BCU as that's the only electronics under the passenger seat. Unless its something mechanical that's not inside the car.

bit of a thread resurrection. But my 2002MY Vogue has just started doing this. Did you find out what it was?

Mine does this too, regular ticking sound, not too loud, from cold startup but seems to disappear after 15-20 minutes.

Definitely coming from passenger side footwell sort of area, happens when stationary or moving (speed of ticking doesn't increase or decrease) and I just can't track down where it's coming from but sure it's inside & very irritating!

sounds like a relay or rocker switch turning off and on and its definitely coming from under passenger seat.

Ive had a quick look at the unit under there but need to pull it out to pinpoint what it is. But wondered if anyone else found out what it was and what does that unit do?

Just a thought - is it anything to do with the FBH located under front wing outside passenger footwell.?
