2006 Range Rover TDV8 Vogue Auto Zermatt Silver
Delivery date for 4.4 diesel ?

Ordered a new Range Rover 4.4 diesel.Dealer told me that he would be able to give me a better idea of delivery time by the end of August.I rang them yesterday only to be told that it would be another two weeks before they could 'hopefully' get me the car before the year end (i dont want to pay the 20% vat!)
Any of you guys got any thoughts/experiences on the matter?

By the way I've ordered it with baltic blue/parchment/black wood, wanted tan interior but got told that itsd now only available in the Autobiography.drat and double drat.

I read in Autocar this week that there is already a 2 month waiting list for the 4.4TDv8 and it's getting longer now the car has had some short reviews in the motoring press. 2012MY RREvoque Dynamic Lux Plus Auto SD4 Coupe in Fuji White with full ebony interior

I've got a 4.4 TDV8 Vogue in Santorini with Jet Leather, Grand Black Wood and a Full Size Spare for Mid-November, then a Vogue SE for early December and an Autobiography for late December.

After that 'were out' as they say in the Dragons Den!

I have set my heat on the baltic blue with tan leather but have had to compromise on the parchment trim.Have you got buyers for your 3 range rovers?

That's quite a specific combination!

We are one of the largest volume RR/RRS dealers being in London, therefore we are allocated more units than most. These three vehicles (or build slots as they could be referred to as they will be amendable to a point) are available as we speak. We take between 1-3 FFRR orders a week on average (slightly more at the moment due to 4.4 TDV8) therefore I would imagine that we will be quoting January before the end of the next week or so.

Can't wait to drive one as I have heard so much about how great the new engine is. Cool

If they have genuinely ordered it with the factory then they will be able to give you a 'Planned Delivery Date' from the LR ordering system (Vista).

Aren't Land Rover honouring the old VAT prices if you order early enough?
Seems unfair if the car comes late and you have to pay 2.5% more.

Agree that you should have been given a delivery date from LR ordering system.

I ordered my 2011MY, Baltic blue, Jet interior back in August and have delivery date of 19th Nov. Was also told they were delivering early by a week or two generally.

Wanted the light interior but very good dealer suggested jet as we all wear jeans and this will very quickly discolour the ivory leather, also with two little ones it would be a nightmare to say the least.

Good luck with your order, also if you have paid deposit then price is set as of now so shouldn't have to fork out the VAT increase IMO.

Oops... I could be wrong. If you are given a delivery date of before 4th Jan 2011 VAT increase all should be good. If there are delays adn vehicle doesn't turn up until after that then probably still ok, but better check with dealer.

However if you order and delivery date is after 4th Jan 2011, then very likely that you'll have to pay extra VAT. Other friends have said this is what has happened to them.

Congrats. It's now the slow wait though, I'm finding it excruciating and doesn't seem to be getting any closer, still have 8 weeks to wait... Aargghhh!

Anyway, great Christmas present though.

Totally agree about the wait. Thumbs Up
I took a test drive of the new Porsche Cayenne diesel two weeks ago....a fabulous vehicle with superb roadholding and great performance and with a sensible spec it was a lot cheaper than a FFRR.But at the end of the (24 hour) test drive when i got back into my motor i knew straight away that i would order another FFRR.

Funnily enough to pass the time I started to wonder about Cayenne and X5, neither appeal but thought they were nearest rivals from luxury point of view. Don't think X5 is good off road either, just big luxury beast to challenge this sector. Friends had a Cayenne and very nice, fast but somehow just not a FFRR. And boy was it hungry for rubber, every 4k miles really. Hoping the FFRR isn't that bad.

Have excluded the Q7 as think this competes with the Disco, although again not a real 4x4 like the Disco off road.

Anyway, point being agree they were ALL a lot cheaper and even adding all the options possible to get fully loaded were below cost of FFRR. BUT, and here's the rub - they're not FFRRs. I know I've made the right decision and have only 7 long weeks to wait now... Very Happy

I didn't think the Cayene was much cheaper. It's basic and all the FFRR toys are expensive options.
I priced up a diesel with some (but not all) of the Vogue standard buttons etc.. and it came to 58k. Shocked
