The Parrot (ISO SOT) adaptors, use the stereo connections, I had a Motarola MK30 in a Landcuiser and it let you play an Ipod through the the build in amp via the cars speakers. Plus most of these units have the option to play music threw the other speakers whilst receiving a call on the drivers door. but to achieve this you will need a long ISO lead not the BMW 40 / 17 pin lead. I think Shocked , but don't quote me on that, not sure how it would tie in with the can bus bit..... And now my head hurts..... I'll have a wee think about this one and get back to ya Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

If all you need is a phone adapter loom to interface to the existing systems then it makes things much simpler, as you say.

Have you kept the original head unit then, to keep the amps powered on, or is that achieved through the adapter too ?

need the headunit to power the amp via a canbus signal the adapter just converts the new headunit plug to BMW plug

Ironhorse, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm assuming that the lead with your head unit was ISO terminations and not the BMW 17 / 40 pin plugs. Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

i think the lead that came with the head unit did have standard the iso plugs and that's why the parrot adapter was used to convert iso to 40 pin filly populated FAkRA (BMW audio plug)
but now i think you can get the 5M headunit lead with a 40 pin fakra fitting on the end so no need for an apapter

also dont forget you will need to also extend the aerial to the new head unit

sort of given up on this , they have not offered a good discount and wont move even when I point out things like this.

so far people going direct for 1 unit get a much better price, the other thing was they wanted to ship to me then I would have had to ship on with cost !!

but if you don't ask you don't get so worth asking !

mmmhhh... you are right.

I found an Italian seller for the Erisin unit. They give it away for 410€ shipped, which is not a competitive price. Howeber, they say that they can make discounts on multiple orders.

Shall I ask? How many of us so far? Roberto
