Filling with diesel...

Hi all,
Having some frustration with my '03 TD6 Vogue

When I go to fill up, I seem to struggle to get the fuel to go in the tank! Have tried putting the filler nozzle in all the way, only a little bit, at an angle, on its side, etc etc etc but no matter what I try it just keeps clicking from the vapour recovery thing as if it thinks the tank is full!! Anyone had this problem before and know what it could be? I read something about a rollover valve that can come up if filling too quick but apparently this was from 05 on?

Hoping to get this resolved fairly promptly as it seems it currently takes longer to fill the car up than it does to empty it again!

Thanks
Matt

I'm having this problem too - but only in certain fuel stations!

I read somewhere on here that twisting the nozzle 180 degrees works, but doesn't seem to help in Sainsbury's. Keeps clicking off as it thinks its full. Caused a problem of crying wolf, as when it finally was full I pulled the trigger again and diesel sprayed out everywhere on me!! 2002 Range Rover Td6 Vogue

Thanks Stan, had seen that post but was under the impression those little yellow things aren't present on the TD6? I'll have a look anyway though and will try inverting the nozzle completely next time I fill up

Well I put some diesel in today at a sainsburys and thought it was going well with the pump inverted, however it clicked off at £9! I had just under a quarter of a tank! Released and tried again, and I could sort of hear it sloshing and backing up the pipe until it gets to the top at which point it clicked off again... Made me think possibly something has broken down inside the pipe causing a blockage? Just had a look at the cost of a replacement pipe thinking worth replacing anyway as it is probably tired old rubber but having seen the price I think I'd like to investigate all other options first!!!

I insert the pump to the 9 o'clock position, any other and it keeps stopping.
