Offroading events in the South

Would love to take the FF offroad to try out it's amazing capabilities and get it filthy! Anyone got anything planned in the South of the UK this year?

Hi James,

Either Mate, have done offroad in a Defender and had a great day out. It would be nice to get a few of us together for a mud fest in the South Very Happy

Hi Andy,

Just seen your Maidstone, i am more South West - Exeter way. We have a training site where we open it up on a prearranged basis for the afternoon for six vehicles or so. We normally tie is in with lunch at the local so its a bit of a social. Would be too far for you to travel though i would of thought unless you were making a weekend of it. Cheers

James

I'd be up for that, based in the south-west corner of Surrey so in the middle of you guys. The usual groups I've been out have usually been with Defenders etc. Last major trip I went on required two new tyres afterwards... Whistle Ed

Hi James,

Yeh, bit of a trek (about 420 mile round trip), so would have to be a weekend jobby. Is anyone else on here planning some green laning this year?

Cheers,

i'd be up for some tame stuff, not wet mud, just off road trails.
the mud thing is not my cup of tea. i have a set of grabber AT's on wheels, to chuck on, for summer-ish off-roading.
once you get in with those defender guys, ou are up to your knees in it.....
i'd rather drive it around, than just spray people behind etc. Trouble is, over the years, tracks have become so deeply channelled, you cant judge the puddles etc. this is not my idea of fun, leaning over, tearing my side flanks apart etc.. with defender chaps in their battered heaps laughing and posting me on youtube!

Hi James (JST)

I'm not so far away in North Somerset - let me know if you're having a get together.

Cheers, Jon.

John

How wrong can you be. Does mine look like a battered heap that i would be taking off road through deep puddles. Shocked Shocked

I'm sorry Jayboy, that is just too clean and shiny.... now go and get some mud on it.....

Only kidding, looks lovely, great colour....

I am in the process of sorting out some undamaging lanes for a trip but it will be North Yorkshire, should be able to make a good day of it if you are up for a weekend trip.... Pete

yes, i take it all back, I see you've gone a full 12 feet off-road in it.

this is what I mean, absolutely no point in trying...
they are are just spoiling the ground!
there's a guy near me, he comes home sunday evening with his road legal-ish disco mk1 absolutely caked. a couple of days later, and the rain has cleaned it somewhat, and left a square ring where he was parked. there are a few of these disco-rings on his street.
it's not my idea of off-road!-- its field destruction.

we know we can do it, we don't have to do it. to me its like, walk along a hard path, not through the mud, unless you are 6 yrs old, like my kids did when they had their wellies and old clothes on!
