Adaptive Cruise and IID

HI Gang,

Whilst having a mess about with IID the other day, I noticed under the ACC setting that I could select Jag Cruise or ACC with Queue feature... (can't remember which one I chose)

Well what do you know, I know have the feature..! Tried it last night on my way home and the car follows the one in front. When coming up to the back of a traffic queue, it slowed down to 5MPH... then kept slowing (cos the traffic had stopped). It stopped the car and then showed me a message something like "Car being held on brakes... Press accelerator to resume"

So it slowed me down, stopped me and then, with a touch of the go pedal, re-engaged the cruise to follow again when it all got moving..!

BUT..........

It did this a couple of times but then got a forward alert fault and cruise unavailable Smile

Turn the car off and on again and it all came back Smile I'll try it again but the car may not have been designed for this properly but it does work (to an extent) Ash

Interesting... I presume that will be Jag mode. Not had a play myself but will look into it today Whistle

I thought the LR system only worked from 20mph upwards hence me thinking you put it into Jag mode... You can now go back in and check what the CCF is set to Thumbs Up Might be helpful for us if you could sir please Bow down

Great info though, thank you Thumbs Up

I will do but don't have the car till I get home (parked up in the station car park)

To your other point, you can't set it until you reach 20MPH but once set, mine slows me right down to a stop and gives that message - press the accelerator and it all kicks back in...

But it did go wrong after a couple of stops but will look at that. Also when it was slowing me right down from 5 MPH to rest the brakes sounded like ABS kicking in... Not a nice gentle brake feel, more of an electronic braking if you know what I mean. Ash

Thats why i think you have set it to Jag mode Ash... Because I'm pretty sure the LR setting warns you to take control when it slows Thumbs Up

Yeah - I think you are right - before it would brake hared down to about 15 mph and then shout at me with a message like "Driver intervention required - Cruise Control disabling" or something similar

Will check tonight Ash

Cars with cruise control do not have a radar transmitter/receiver fitted so no software can add ACC.

Messing around with those types of settings sounds pretty dangerous to me, and an absolute minefield if such messing around led to an accident and subsequent insurance claim Whistle

It does already have cruise and front radar. It has built in forward alert and follow mode for cruise already. this is just an extension of that by allowing it to slow to a stop rather than just down to 10mph Ash

Craig - Indeed - I set it to Jag Cruise enabled and then ACC_Queue in the CCF.

Seems to work ok - give it a try.

I still hover my foot over the brake pedal ready to press just in case though Laughing Ash

I struggle to see why LR would not have enabled this for the L322 if the technology was there and worked....even if they sold it as an extra. To me, this is saying that with the L322 they decided against it for a reason - it may be something to do with the automatic brake force required at certain speeds. As most will know, the L322 asks the driver to intervene in certain circumstances, whereas the L405 system which is advertised with the full queue system is very much automatic.

Be careful Thumbs Up
