I think the UNSQUASHED look of the new Discovery Sport is so much better than the similarly designed (Semi Crushed) Evoque.

Agreed. I think it looks great. It is strange for it to be so similar to the Evoque. LR are probably monitoring it very closely as they will want to avoid any branding confusion. The moment that customers' don't understand the positioning is a dangerous thing. That said, they will probably both have a strong following and a healthy order list!

Mind you, the Disco Sport got its @rse well and truly kicked in the What Car? test against the X3 though..... 2006 4.2 SC

I like it too. Agreed, I really don't see how this differs from the Evoque. It seems to me, it just comes down to, "Will that be five seats, sir? Or seven?

I saw one yesterday for the first time (apart from in a showroom I mean) - looks good on the road I thought, quite simple and harmonious.

Had a good look round a pre launch car, looks good, but is on basically a stretched Freelander2 platform, similarly as the Evoque.

Not that it matters it will have less off road ability due to wheelbase......

There are new engines being developed to replace the ford / Peugeot offerings currently, and foer the bigger LR/RR offerings Regards

Nice enough looking car but looks a bit bland and overall uninspiring to look at and drive for what is an expensive car at about £37k.

The infotainment appears to be very impressive and quick to respond on touch screen but wouldn't buy one.

I think its very clever brand design - I don't think anyone will be confused - I don't know anyone who really likes both & couldn't decide - everyone seems to quite strongly prefer one over the other - or dislike both.

A bit like the Disco & the old Sport - even if you knew they were the same underneath, they each had very distinctive markets.
