After the garage never tightening the negative terminal caused my head unit to fail, which was fixed & re-fitted today, still no audio out speakers . It is a pioneer unit that I witnessed bench tested with the audio working fine. I kept the MID unit in the glovebox for the clock etc, this now has zero power. All fuses & circuits have been checked with no issues. As its only an HSE , only 2 speakers in front doors + 1 speaker in the rear doors each, but I do have a centre speaker in the dash. Checked the workshop manual & this shouldn't be the case with an HSE.
Anyone know if there is a crossover somewhere for this model as there is power showing on the speaker wires.

Also anyone got a MID unit gathering dust in the garage that they can courier up on Monday?

Just need this last thing sorted before she goes next week, think the car knows it's away soon and wants my last penny spending on her! looking forward to the new one but didn't want to be spending money right up to the eleventh hour !

Are you trying the radio function only for sound...........aerial connected?

Everything's properly connected, was the original installer of the unit who was doing it for me ..

Think I've found an amplifier in the boot, will post a picture shortly

Mr tee I have a spare amp from an HSE. Let me know if u need one.

Dug the amp out , nice turquoise colour on the connections, cleaned them off to no avail sadly. Back to the audio man on Tuesday , will let you know if I need the amp, much appreciated offer.

send me a photo of your connections at the rear of the amp. I will see if it matches. Think I have 2 different types (bought a couple without really knowing which was the right one! )

Well after another couple of hours with the audio man , no power into the amp, tried with a direct feed and didn't work . The. MID unit is completely dead. That's it game over , can't spend anymore on the fooker, just need to talk to the wife from Dundee to London FFS!
