Did I really need to remind them.

My car has been in the dealer since last Wednesday.

3 days they said for tailgate replacement and brake hose recall.

I rang them Friday to arrange pick up, sorry Sir, it won't be ready till Monday. No problem I said.

They rang me at 3 today to say your car is ready for collection, everything went well and it has been valeted.
Excellent I reply, did you change all the brake fluid when you did the hoses?
Silence............
Ah, brake hose recall, I forgot about that, he said, thanks for reminding me, he said.

I will try to collect again tomorrow!

Well it gets better.
I phoned this morning to instruct them to change all the brake fluid as they only top it up during the recall.
I was told the car would be ready at 3..
I turn up at 3.15 and see my car gleaming in the car park, great it's looking good.
Wrong.
Sorry Sir we haven't managed to get it in today, we are so busy.
Please leave it with us for another 24 hrs.
Off I go.
They call me at 5. To say the brake hose connections are corroded to the brake lines and they are worried undoing them might damage the lines. What's the problem I say.
Well Sir if the brake lines get damaged we don't think the warranty will cover new brakes lines?
What? Are you joking?
No Sir, we need to get confirmation from the warranty department.
Well call them I said.
No sorry, might take a week to process.
So, back I go to pick up my car and return the diabolical Disco Sport.
To be continued...........

Well we've been royally ripped off by a LR Dealer near Swindon (Wooton Basset) who have now changed their name! It will never go back to a main dealer and will be serviced by Harry in our village from now on who charges less than 1/3rd of the extornonate dealer rates!
At least he put new spark plugs in at its last service unlike the man dealers!!

Good luck getting your RR back!

If I have things done to a car, I just make a list, print it and leave it on the dash and with the service manager / mechanic as well. Not fool proof but it usually helps Wink MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Yep, List written up in advance, top tip. One in the car one handed to the service Man.

Tends to result in everything getting done.

I'm pretty sure that if they scooby the brake lines in the course of a safety recall the liability for the damage they caused in the name of repairing a part which was deemed in need of recalling can't be put into the owner! Think you would have a good case to tell them to stick the bill in a dark place! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

They called today and said any additional work will be covered.

Its booked in for Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday.

Yep, 3 days, not sure even a main dealer can stretch the work out over 3 days.
