Rear Screens or iPADs?

I like the integrated rear screens but feel this is one of those options that the kids will rarely use. I am thinking of using iPADS as they are far more versatile but how can you attach these to the back of the seats ? Is there a very good and discreet holder, ideally powered ?

iPads every time IMHO - my kids prefer to hold them / rest on knees than seat back holders Thumbs Up

They are happy to plug their headphones in - and charge them whenever needed - just get a decent cig later USB charger Thumbs Up

iPads. Unless the kids are under 5 when you need to control things for them. With the screens, they only argue about what they want to watch. Easier for them to have their own device.

Think I am going to go down the tablet route after I had a quick play on the fitted rear screens. The quality of the 8 inch screens is just okay in my opinion, but the lack of versatility and the cost makes this a poor option.

I think 2x permanent Amazon 10.1 inch High definition tablets fitted to the rear would be a substantially better solution, and at only 169GBP each is more cost effective. These will be attached to a Wifi Harddrive dongle.

I never used the RSE in the 4.2 so didn't want it in the 5.0. Both my girls have tablets (iPad and Galaxy) so if they are allowed screens in the car, it will be those Smile.

I would never pay extra for the RSE !!! MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

My setup... iPad 2’s in Next Base (MIRA approved & crash tested) holder/charger’s with built in IR wireless so use JLR OE headphones which A, look factory “obviously” but B, they are MIRA crash tested/approved too! A HUGE benefit for me as my kids safety is paramount!!!, To complete “the look” i took the holder/chargers apart & integrated them into the headrest as i wanted a factory installed look. The iPads can be taken with them or left in the Map pockets/boot for safe keeping when the kids are not with the car...
