Unusal presenter for TG

Would never have thought the Friends actor would have been picked ..

FROM THE BBC APP

Former Friends star Matt LeBlanc is be one of the new presenters of Top Gear when the motoring programme returns to BBC Two in May.
The US actor will be the show's first non-British host in its 39-year history.
"Matt's a lifelong fellow petrolhead and I'm thrilled he's joining Top Gear," said Chris Evans of his new co-host.

Shocked Shocked Matt LeBlanc Shocked Shocked We'll have to learn a different language Laughing

To be fair he is a massive petrolhead, and I'd imagine that he will help with the international appeal for the program too, which has had a bit of a kicking thanks to JC Rolling Eyes

Roll on May, then we can make up our minds as to whether it works or not Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

One more reason not to watch for me!

As if Beaker wasn't enough, now we have an "actor" telling us about cars.

Just a crude attempt by the BBC to try and make up for lost sales in the US market IMHO.

TG has been a big global earner for the Beeb ...I guess they think by bringing in Le Blanc it will help protect that and perhaps even grow the brand by appealing to the yankee doodle dandies Confused The forums premier drug dealer and human trafficking consultant

You can see TG USA on YouTube - it's quite good and the three presenters work well together. As its franchised it's not really stolen from us.

Funniest I read today was that Mr Evans is finding it hard to drive and talk at the same time and he gets car sick when driven fast Rolling with laughter "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

The 'actor' is a huge petrolhead, so I see no reason why he wouldn't be any worse, or better, than anyone else.

He just happens to be famous for non-car reasons. Tim Allen is another massive petrolhead and he'd probably be equally as good. Rowan Atkinson, the actor pr comedian, likewise. Nick Mason, the drummer. Rick Parfitt, the guitarist. Nigel Kennedy, the violinist. The list is endless. Richard Hammond started out in hospital radio, so maybe that makes him a DJ?

I really don't have an opinion either way at this stage. I don't think he'll be bad at all. I'm keeping an open mind as I don't think the success of the show has ever revolved around one person. It's the sum of its parts that will be key. Si. <This is my name.

I think the reports of Chris Evans being car sick, not being able to talk and drive, producers leaving along with the announcement of Matt is just hype to keep the show in the news until May.
Watched an old epsiode where Chris Evans was driving the reasonably priced car, he seemed to have no issues playing to the camera and driving then. Was quite sad as he was on about taking over from terry wogan. Mine was a blue one! Smile
