Rear pads - how hard can it be ?

My car was in for a service today & they sent me a very nice video showing me that the rear pads were half worn

https://video.citnow.com/vtNltsqjzkl

The video shows the cost as £121

I was waiting in the dealership when I got the email & watched the video, so I did a search & decided that it seems reasonable as pads would cost £70 from Dan

Then when I went to pay - the quote was £274 Shocked

So that one will be a job for my local indi later this year when it gets it's first MOT

If they are anywhere near as easy to do as a late L322 do them yourself and save some beer money

On my 2010 TDV8 it takes longer to jack it up and take the wheel off than it does to change the pads/sensor

Discs and pads all round for my 2011 S/C I was quoted 1156 + VAT by a main dealer. Suffice to say I can get genuine parts from Dan for well under half that. Add in the cost of a couple of cream cakes (have to consume sustenance when working) and I still have 600 quid to spend on toys. A real no-brainer.

Really not sure where the dealers get their prices from TBH. I can do all 4 corners in about 1.5 hours, and that's with a trolley jack on my drive. They have a 4 post lift FFS.
