Pirelli Scorpion Verde.

Has anyone had any experience of Scorpion Verdes?

Tyre Leader are currently selling 255/55/20 tyres for £120 a tyre. I was wondering if they were worth it?

as you probably know that this size is not the correct one for the FF, however many have fitted them and are pleased with the ride...

i'd look on ebay for 'take offs' comprising of 20'' wheels fitted with nearly new tyres which are normally pirellis...they cost aprrox £500 upwards.. ... - .- -.

What I meant was does anyone have any experience of the Scorpion Verdes rather than just Scorpions?

General opinion is that Scorpions don't seem to last too long compared to their cost. I was wondering how these ones compared to them for longevity, comfort, winter capability (being 'all season'), and fuel economy?

I'm currently running 255/50/20 Vredstein Wintrac Extremes which have covered 17000 miles and have plenty of tread left, but have half an eye on the slightly larger size which as you say, reviews well.

I'm sure you know that most L405's have the Verde as the standard tyre. it will have been through a vast range of tests to prove it is the right tyre for that car.
I'm very pleased with mine on L322. Comfort, grip, noise and feel all good. New set on 5k miles ago and the worst tread depth reading I have is 7.5mm out of 8 Smile
Can't give back to back with any other tyre as I have only driven other types of tyres on brief L322 test drives. 2012MY Range Rover 4.4 TDV8 Vogue...now gone!

I drove a L405 fitted with them last year and was very impressed with their off-road capabilities.

Scorpions wear well enough, certainly better than the Continentals although I prefer the comfort of the Conti. But if it's out and out wear life you want the Michelin can't be beaten, it's just the cost of the things. I run Michelins on my work hack and the last pair on the front did 42k. The back ones have done even more although it is front wheel drive.

I've tried others like Nexens and formed the opinion that there were good reasons Land Rover didn't fit them on the line. No experience of Wintracs though.
