United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black

Best start saving then Ryan.... Whistle

All running well? Mine touch wood has been a lot better than the 3.6!! Have had to grease the squeaky brakes this weekend though. Still squeaking a bit though I think it is the pins and clips rather than the pads a little ceratec on them should fix it I think. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

So, the car needs:

New tyres all round because Sir, they're down to just 4mm... Shocked

A modular update which will take 45 minutes to do at a cost of £52 and that will cure the cruising speed feeling of intermittent hesitance/ hiccup/ stutter (but they didn't have time to do it today anyway).

Otherwise, a clean bill of health and £634 incl VAT for a major/ B service.

Thumbs Up

A nice quick and easy snow foam wash first thing and a light coating of Mr Muscle on the wheel faces as those horrid black tar and brake dust speckles were not shifting.... Well they've shifted now Mr. Green

The brake squeal returned yesterday in warm weather. There seems to be a correlation between brake squeal and not having cleaned the wheels properly for a couple of weeks. I'm going to get some ceramic paste and try that but in the meantime will try my air hose to blow any dust off the brakes Mr. Green

Thumbs Up

Been up and down the M6 in terrible BH weekend traffic during the last couple of days in what must be one of the best cars you could hope for. Looks nice, feels nice, drives nice, you can always read the road ahead due to the high driving position and IMO you never feel agitated, even when stuck in tedious, lengthy traffic jams.

8 speed box is the way to go and the fuel consumption for such a big beastie is excellent. Always a pleasure Thumbs Up

Thanks Sandy, it's great.

If anything, the bother we had with the last SC and the fact I had to learn a bit about the L322 to be able to stand my ground with the selling dealer (to rebut their fob offs) didn't put me off. That experience actually made me more keen to sort the SC issues out; and then get another RR that the law of averages dictates surely we could enjoy... And touch wood!

Most importantly, Mrs PLD, whose car it is, loves it and is glad she didn't persuade me to turn my back on Range Rovers!

Thumbs Up

Whilst washing it today, one of the rear upper tailgate (vertical/ on the edge of the rear screen glass) rubber strips came off.

Was about to put it back on, remembered a post on the forum saying they're useless/ do nothing and so took the other one off too.

They both look like new but if they do nowt, what's the point in them!

Thumbs Up

Brake squeal was ridiculous yesterday. Pads fine and genuine LR too. Copper greased them a few months back with limited success and despite being advised not to use copper grease on the ABS brakes (it was all I had at hand when I had an hour free). Did intend to get ceramic paste in the hope of banishing the noise. Next job up!

That and the impending MOT later this week Thumbs Up
