England 2003 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Zambezi Silver
How did I get here?

I have always liked the style of the RR - my uncle had a 1970,s classic in the ubiquitous light blue many years ago. I now have a 2003 L322 TD6 and despite the growing list of items needing attention I do like it, but I never previously considered owning one. In fact I had looked at a Lotus Esprit S2 just before I spotted THE ONE!
Looking at the range of vehicles others have currently or have had in the past I thought I would list the roundabout route I took to motoring nirvana since passing my test in 1976 -

1967 Vauxhall Viva Deluxe - it was a deluxe because it came with a radio already fitted instead of a hole in the dashboard.
1970 Ford Capri XL - came with a radio AND a fold down rear seat armrest, luxury indeed.
1972 MGBGT - heavy and very slow.
1980 Ford Cortina mk 4 Ghia - came with a sunroof and free body rot!
1985 Vauxhall Carlton - in brown and very bland.
1990 Vauxhall Carlton - automatic transmission and electric windows, oooh new toys.
1996 Vauxhall Omega estate - had a caravan by now so needed something to pull it.
2001 Vauxhall Frontera - ok, so it isn't the best off-roader but it is better than average and never let me down.

I must admit that every time I get in the RR I wonder what is going to go wrong next, but it is definitely more of a driving experience than any of my previous cars.... QUID FACIUM TIBI

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Buckingham Blue

My list is in my signature. My 1995 M5 was featured in a couple of magazines. Had that at the same time as the Rr Classic. Rest of the cars were only ones.....

735i was well nice.

I always fancied a 2.8i Capri or an RS2000 Escort, but they were a bit old when I could afford them. Passed my test in 1988......

Like the Cortina Ghia.....

The Cortina was in gold with tinted windows and brown velour trim, the height of luxury as long as you ignored the pile of loose rust that collected under the car every night. QUID FACIUM TIBI

haha looks like you've been given a lot of freebies with these cars of yours mate. Doesn't sound like they've all been welcome though Rolling with laughter

Here's my list.
1984 Austin Metro 950cc - previously stolen and recovered so nice and cheap for a first car - kept for a year
1989 Honda Civic 1400cc - insurance write off - interior fire, fully repaired by me and made a little money on it when selling - kept for 2 years, nice and quick compared to the metro haha.
1990 Renault 5 GT Turbo - 1400cc, pocket rocket, small prang, someone stole the interior when it was in a fully barbed wired fenced compound at the insurance repairers so ended up written off - I was so angry.
1990 Renault 5 GT Turbo - 1400cc, managed to find another one, again in white so as I'd been to the repair yard and taken all my aftermarket parts off the old one I put them on the replacement and had an almost identical car again haha.
1996 Peugeot 306 TD - 1900cc, started off ok but got very boring very quickly so did my bike test and got a
1994 Honda CBR 600 - 600cc, rode in all weathers for about 2 years (didn't have another vehicle so had to ride in snow even!), brilliant.
1989 Seat Ibiza - 1200cc I think, starship enterprise inside, leaked oil and petrol outside haha, had it a year and sold it to my mate, shortly after it had to be scrapped - sorry pal Rolling with laughter
1994 Toyota Celica GT - 2000cc, lovely, had this about 3 years
1994 Toyota Celica GT4 - 2000cc turbo 4x4, miles better than the GT had it for about 7 years
2002 Range Rover 4.4 - first car I've had that is taller than me, love it in a totally different way to the celica, but the celica wasn't practical with a baby so had to go.

And that's it I think. Dan

Switzerland 2005 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 V8 Zambezi Silver

This brings back memories 😄
Austin Allegro 1978 (I think) - first car, red & very slow. Sold it as soon as I'd passed my test.
Ford Firsta 1980 - the yellow peril! Was bright banana yellow and served me well
Ford Escort Estate - fitted RS Turbo wheels & interior - what was I thinking!
Ford Sierra 1.8 Ghia - electric windows for the first time! Went like stink!
Honda Prelude Mk1 - had an electric sunroof, I'd never had such luxury.
Suzuki SJ410 Conv - my first foray into 4x4's. Was my daily driver for 5yrs & never let me down. Had BFG AT's, was regularly used off-road & they never showed any sign of wear .....happy days.
Mitsubishi Shogun Mk1 - absolute c😳😳p! Had a dodgy MOT & was rotted out underneath, cost me a fortune to get fixed!

Then in 2001 my signature takes over 😄 Current - RRV Autobiography 4.4V8 2005

Modifications - 20" Westminster Alloys with Grabber AT's. BRC LPG Conversion.

Previous- RRC 3.9V8/91. RRC 4.2V8/94 LSE Softdash. RRC 2.5tdi/94. RRC 2.5tdi/91. RR p38 2.5DHSE/01, Disco2 2.5td5/03, Disco4 2.7tdv6/10 ..... all gone.
