Annoying clock on instrument cluster

Hi all had a look around the site and cant find anything to do with this question i have.
my cars clock seems to bong three times at me when it comes to the hour, not usually a drama but it doesn't even do it on the hour, its always at 59 minutes and i know its petty but it really irritates me is there anyway i can change it to bong on the hour exactly or even just shut it up permanently?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Wonder does this from RAVE help?

SYSTEM SETTINGS
Altering the system settings
Your vehicle is delivered with a basic setting for
all displays, which depend upon the country for
which the vehicle is intended.
These settings can be altered to suit your
preferences.
Press the MENU button on the control panel to
display the general menu screen.
•Turn the right rotary control until ‘Set’ is
highlighted.
•Press the right rotary control to obtain a list
of possible settings.
You can alter:
•The language of the display texts,
•The units of measurement for distance, fuel
consumption and temperature,
•The time and date
and the way these are expressed.
The following can also be changed by turning the
control further:
1. Memo
Shortly before the hour, three signal tones
will be emitted. If you have switched on this
function, you will see a soundwave symbol
at the bottom edge of the display screen,
after the day.
2. Audio + OBC
means radio and on-board computer
displays appear on the screen at the same
time.
1. On-board computer display
You can choose whether to have the outside
temperature or your estimated time of
arrival displayed.
2. Colour set
means you select a set of colours for the
display screen from the three options
available.
3. Day/night
means you can switch the automatic
day/night changeover function for colour
set on or off.

That comes from the BMW days. It chimes 3 times at the 59 minute mark in case you want to catch the news on the hour.....

I'm not joking.... My 1988 735i did it if you set it....

In which case try:
"(Vehicles NOT equipped with Satellite
Navigation).

Reminder signal
An hourly reminder signal (MEMO), can be
programmed, to alert you for example of news
broadcasts.
Press the ‘CLOCK’ button (11).
To set the reminder signal, press the function key
(13) below ‘MEMO’ or ‘ON’ (14).
The signal occurs 15 seconds before each hour."

I can't copy the picture with the button function displays from RAVE but if you press the clock button you then press one of the buttons in a line below the display (channel memory buttons?). It looks as if the one you want is the second from right hand one. It is then, as I understand it, a question of toggling the function on or off. Finishing by pressing the clock button again.

Let's know how you get on. John
