Discovery Sport .

My car is in for servicing today and they gave me a new discovery sport as a courtesy car. What do I think of it ? Well it's a reminder of what a fantastic car the Range Rover is to drive !

There is loads of them where i work in Watford. For me they are ugly and pointless just like the freelander.

I had one the other day not a fan either as it was only the base model and I didn't get chance to see how sport it was, the Problem going from diving the top of their range to the middle of the range will never compare, the one thing I did notice was that it was telling 100 mile range for 1/4 of a tank L322 2008 vogue

England 2014 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Loire Blue

When mine went in for recall work a few weeks ago they gave me a brand new top of the range DS

It had some nice toys (particularly liked the way the speed limit was displayed on the instruments) but found the ride harsh and surprisingly noisy Shocked . Would consider on for the other half to replace her Qashqai but not at the £43+grand that this one cost!!

The other surprising thing was that on the same drive to work that i get 28mpg from my 4.4tdv8 the DS with half the cylinders, stop start technology and 2.4 litres less only managed 31mpg Thud

Maybe in a few years when prices are a bit more realistic i will consider one as the "second car" Thumbs Up

Canada 2008 Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8 Java Black

I had one from the dealer about s month back.
Impressions:
- Nice, but I greatly prefer my 2008 FFRR. The FF is just a much nicer vehicle.
- Fuel economy. Yes, of course it's better than the FFRR, but not by nearly as much as I thought it would. It's a much newer and lighter vehicle with 4 fewer cylinders. I was quite surprised when driving exactly the same route under the same conditions.
- New, it's more than I paid for the FFRR.
- Never drove a Freelander, but this seems nicer.

I gave a D-Sp loaner back the other day.

I was impressed with the amount of head and legroom, fit and finish etc. Seats made me ache after twenty minutes though and although I didn't expect much from a 2L diesel with 300 miles on it, I expected much better economy than I was getting. I swear I could have watched the gauge move with the air con on.

In the end, it is what it is, a budget entry into LR and never going to be anywhere near as competent, plush of comfortable as a FF. However, I left it out the front (I live in a cul-de-sac) for the three days I had it and at least four cars came in and had a good look at it so like the Evoque, the looks obviously appeal.

Not saying this to offend anyone but I really can't see why it's a forty grand car. Total madness. When my cars are in for servicing I now specify no DS's.

My elderly Dad thinks the same. He's buying a new to him car on Tuesday ( from the same dealer I'm getting a car from on the same day) and he's opted for the outrun Freelander Metropolis, rather than buy the DS.

Your abbreviation "DS' put me in mind of quite a different car. I'd love to have a DS as a loaner. Fun. And returned before anything broke!
