United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Loire Blue
Ski Hatch / Bag 2011MY onwards

Hi folks,

Do any of you know whether any of the 2011 onwards (L322s) have the ski hatch / bag fitted?

I have it on my 07MY VSE and it is very useful.

Am currently looking to update to the 4.4 TDV8 and have looked at quite a few cars now, but none seem to have the ski hatch!

Any light that could be shed would be very much appreciated! Thumbs Up

Cheers!

BTW... if you have a 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography with Ivory interior and you are thinking of selling..... PM me! Wink -----------------------------------------------

Wasn't that an option? Ours is a 2003 Vogue with the Ski hatch / Bag but I think it was part of the Winter option pack with heated rear seats and heated steering wheel.

It's an option - and not a hugely popular one.

VSE is basically just an options pack - for a while the ski locker was included in the VSE spec - not sure when it stopped, but think it was with the 2010 facelift

You will still be able to find cars with it, but nowhere near as common as the 07 era VSE

Mines not got it. My TD6 had it, and so did my 2 BMW M5's.....

Useful for moving flourescent light tubes...... Whistle

L405 is even better IMHO - the centre seat folds flat - no integrated bag, but you can fit a lot more through the gap Thumbs Up

Thanks folks.

Good to know that it was still an option on the 2011+ models - even if a rare one.

Shame. It really is a very useful feature. Not quite sure how I am going to manage without it! -----------------------------------------------

Definitely optional. Neither of my AB's had it. (2010 and 2011)

I can understand why its rare - I found it effectively useless - if there's less than 4 of you in the car then you fold a seat flat - if there are 4 of you, then you can't get 4 pairs of skis into it..... don't even try a snowboard.

In the end I went with a Thule rack.

Or are you using it for something other than skis ?

Or just get an L405 and bags for your skis Cool

Agree with you about skis but Yup, want it for something else!

It is very handy for 15ft 3 piece fly rods, wading sticks, etc (fishing kit basically!)

Often travelling with enough kit and people that I don't want to fold a seat but need a space longer than the boot is wide for my kit!! -----------------------------------------------

BTW.... I have since unearthed an option sheet for the 2012MY...... you are absolutely right... it was an option on all models but not standard on any from at least 2011 onwards.

Let's hope somebody with a big cheque book had the same taste and needs as I do when they ordered their car!!!

Thanks for your help! -----------------------------------------------
