Nearly lost it...

Just s##t myself! I'm down at 'fit-slow' having a Kidney removed as it has a nail in it. Anyway, the fitter removed the tyre and then proceeds to cut off the valve!!!...so I runs out about to give him a Censored ( thinking the idiots damaged the TPMS device) and gets there to find no donkeys plonk fitted? Seems the new fatty uses the difference in wheel circumference calc'd by the ABS to suss a puncture rather than the L322's pressure sensor...calmed down now Smile GONE 2010 Facelifted 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey + 22" Overfinch Olympus

I think it's more likely you don't have TPMS fitted..... Whistle

It was still an option in 2013 - and the valves were the same as the L322.

Is the running circumference not affected by loading? Seems a bit of an unreliable measure for pressure. 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

Not fitted? TBH I never thought of the possibility it wasn't fitted. Will have to look into that, but given that I switched the TPMS off on my L322, it's no great loss. GONE 2010 Facelifted 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey + 22" Overfinch Olympus

Pretty sure some sort of TMPS (either active like the L322 sensors)or passive (tyre circumference) has been mandatory on new vehicles from about 2012.... 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

My car has pressure sensors.

The ones with TPMS have metal valve stems, the non-TPMS ones have rubber.

The way to check is to turn on the ignition but NOT start the engine. Bring up the menu in the instrument binnacle. Select Service Menu (this is greyed out if the engine is running) and look for tyre pressure check.

^ Yep, exactly. Although BMW use the ABS sensors and it is way more reliable.

I don't have any form of TPMS. As EM says, rubber valves are the give away but checked TOPIX to be sure and it says LESS TPMS.....so I haven't got the thing I didn't want Laughing GONE 2010 Facelifted 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey + 22" Overfinch Olympus
