I'm 27. IT Contractor as well as starting my own IT Support Business. Me and Wifey have had 1.5 P38 2.5DSE before (1st one we dont talk about lol).
We now have a FFRR 4.2 Supercharged which makes my inner petrolhead very happy. Had various Volvos T4/T5/D5, Scooby WRX and a few other boring cars.
Current cars are the L322 and a 2007 S80 D5

It all depends on the situation pal. Ive been in IT for over 11years. I have contracted previously but due to having a mortgage ive been more towards permanent. Problem you have got is alot of stuff is getting easier and every man and his dog does IT lol. If you can make it work there is money to be made. I wish i did engineering at school but oh well lol.
Heres a tip. Go Limited and get a good accountant. If you want one in Sheffield I can let you know who i use lol.

Zaff

It also depends on your area.
Im in the Server Support side of things. I dont do (much) coding.

I'm 57 and I am an IT contractor and I can recommend it. As Zaff said, go Limited Company and you won't look back, but watch out for changes the government is suggesting around IR35 legislation for government contracts from April 2016 onwards. IR35 and Umbrella Companies have screwed things over. There are ways to 'Not fall under IR35(not Avoid IR35 lol)' but if i remember rightly it applies after 2yrs at one place of work.

I may even PM you Andy B to see differences lol

South Africa

Hi All

I am 56, and live in South Africa, i have a recruiting company.
I have just given my D1 v8 to a friend who just cannot afford a 4x4, and got myself a FFRR TD6.
I am so impressed i wouldnt mind getting a second ( for spares, incase) but the more i drive mine the more reliable i see it being.
As an aside, every time i travel to the UK, I am amazed at the sheer volume of second hand vehicles and what you can get for your money.
I dont think you guys realise just how lucky you are with the choice.

I tend to go to the Berkshire Arms. has a huuuuuuge car park, so handy for FFRR meets !! Anyone?

65 and on third RR.

First one was a very early 2 door with the limited slip center diff. As I recall number 73 off the production line. That was later replaced with a 4dr that I converted to an automatic. Now an L322

We eat at the Berkshire arms every couple of months. Live in Newbury and still working in IT (at a school so long holidays)

31, first RR after seeing the light during a contract job in Phoenix, AZ where I picked up a 04 D2 NAS 4.6 V8. Loved the thing to bits and on getting back to Europe sold my 10 times more expensive AUDI RS5, then moved to Ireland for the new job and found this 07 Vogue SE. Should have gone straight for a 12 4.4 Westie but committed now...
Had a number of German autobahn bombers (RS5, RS6 V8, RS4 V6) but not looking back.

Best thing I like about the LR product is that it is so well suited for any situation at every location.

For coins I drive a bus made by Airbus.
