any views on factory fitted and after market alloys?

i like the look of the RR turbine alloys but LR supply them in 22's which I know I don't want I have however found a place that sells replica's for a reasonable price and they are 20's which suit my needs

anyone changed to aftermarket and regretted it ?

if the center caps are an od size I have a guy that custom makes them and size any logo

There's loads of (bad) reports about using 'replicas' on the L322 - they usually aren't load rated high enough & fail.

I would never use wheels that have not come from a verified quality supplier - either original LR wheels, or Overfinch / Khan / Revere etc - mostly not to my taste, but I would have confidence in their quality.

My advice would be to stick with quality wheels - and tyres - and don't forget to inform your insurance company if you do decide to change Thumbs Up

+1 for strong wheels. I managed to dent a 19" gen LR wheel, i dread to think how a "fashion" wheel would have fared. Rolling Eyes There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

The only non-OEM wheels I would use were ones I had made at a reputable company and designed to take the weight and forces generated.

Wheels are, to my mind at least, are critical components in the same grouping as brakes and steering and shouldn't be viewed only in terms of looks.

one point to consider is whether an insurance claim will be honoured if non OE rims are fitted when an accident occurs.. ... - .- -.

and me I honestly dont understand why people want to go away from a wheel tyre combo that was designed for the vehicle
I do lots of miles and batter my cars change tyres at 4mm and use winters it would all be to no avail if I was using inferior wheels where is the safety in that?

I fitted Compomotives as they are the only 18" option for my 2008 L322. I have 265/60/18s as easy size to get in oz. The bigger size is not noticeable other than the speedo is now pretty much spot on. ______________________________

Got the car at home at last, don't think the wheels currently on it are factory have added photo

These wheels are coming off shortly and I plunged for after market ones got the 4 20inch turbine look a likes wheels tyres balanced ready to fit for £700, the website tell me each wheel is rated to 1.2t and they have been accredited by land rover

If they end up being nasty I can send them back and try find a nice set of original 20inch wheels

I don't know about the UK but as long as the wheel and tyre complies with the road rules the insurance company would be struggling to knock back a claim. ______________________________

my insurance is trade, I have a check box to declare modifications should the car be a total write off the insurance company wouldn't pay any extra from my wheels but that would be about it, in saying that the wheels are probably a similar price to second hand OEM wheels

I very very much doubt that - is there any proof ? Did they come with a certificate ?

Do you seriously believe that LR will accredit a copy of their own wheels ?? Confused
