United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black

Think that was me Stan......

Have noticed that the fans shut down when you unlock the car...... so it doesn't work if you turn it on the. Unlock the car and forget you did.

Ok so have been and checked, after 10 mins on a frosty start the inside temp was 13.5 degrees at head level, So you are looking at about 1 Deg per min increase i reckon another min or 2 would have that up to 15 degrees plus.

Ok so that might not be "toasty" but it is an acceptable increase and running it over 18 mins would be pointless as you will hit a good temp after that time from a frosty start. Ok so that's not great if it's -10 but it rarely is in the U.K. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

The battery management changes

Reduced the cycle from 30 minutes to 17/18.
LR view is that 17/18 minutes is generally enough in U.K. climate to make the cabin comfortable for driver.
The reduction in cycle time was to avoid flat batteries and cars not starting.....

IMHO the full 30 minutes on my old MY10 was better....properly left the cabin toastie for both front and rear occupants when they got in. And particularly on the really cold mornings when you really wanted it.

According to weather forecast the next week or so will see overnight temps down to -4 or so...

iMO there should be a choice on the cycle times i would sooner take the 30 minuites and make sure my battery was up to the job 👍

Mine doesn't seem to get anywhere near toasty or 1deg per minute.

Only seems to be just enough to not be shivering without a coat and vents only seem to be blowing barely above cold, certainly not what I consider warm air Sad

How do you check if it's working correctly? 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

17/18 minutes gets mine Luke warm.
Takes about 7 minutes before the FBH starts to produce warm air on mine.
And mine is working correctly - it has been tested by a team from Gaydon.

Overnight Temps on the south coast in the next few days are forecast to be down to -5 or -6.
At these sort of temps a full 30 minutes is required.

Would like to see a video or actual pics of this on a l322 ? Think this is just tempting people to buy the product to find out it does not or will not work ..

Doesn't the FBH work better if you turn all of the heater controls up to max? 2011 (MY12) 4.4 TDV8 Vogue
