Cooling system 2002 4.4 v8

I've got to drain the cooling system to do the thermo stat mod on the range. Is there anything else worth doing while I've got the system drain, problem hoses etc...

Cheers all

Raise the front to bleed and fill coolant to almost top of expansion tank and squeeze bottom and top hoses to burp out air and keep doing with heater on and engine running to avoid chopping your fingers off. The meeknet site has a good bleeding how to
My top rad hose recently blew apart at the steel band that coonects to near the water pump
