RR Classic diagostics hardware

Hi gents.

I have a project 93 classic. Last of the hard dashes. I've found two plugs which could be diagnostics one being scart plug by the drivers right knee and the other being a white 3 pin plug under the drivers seat. The WSM says the 3 pin is the diag plug I'm wondering if that is right - would it not make more sense for the scart plug to be the diag?

Anyone have any experience of this matter?
