All The Amigos

Just over 6 weeks since the fuel pump went on the M42 (outside lane whilst making reasonable progress!) I've now got all the warnings (HDC, TC, Special Progs, Suspension lowered, reduced gears etc). Had come on a few times recently but a restart saw them disappear. Luckily this time I was only 1.5 miles from home so limped back at c.8mph (hurray for rush hour congestion). Sounded like it was in 1st and low ratio - 2500rpm to do 8mph!

Off to the garage on the 3rd....... 17 MY Corris Grey 4.4 VAB

Garage (Guy Salmon) first though it was a wiring fault, then the HP fuel pump. They've still not diagnosed it, after 8 working days....... Rolling Eyes 17 MY Corris Grey 4.4 VAB

When you get a whole bunch of warnings all at once, my guesses would be: battery, alternator, Mechanic didn't hook something back up or reset something from last time.

HP fuel pump apparently. c£2300 to fix but possibly £7000 for a wider fix (awaiting the explanation anout that - seems to be relatrd to doing more than flushing). Found metal particles in fuel filter. Does this sound right? Also, given the in-tank pump failed 6 weeks ago, are they linked? 17 MY Corris Grey 4.4 VAB

Sounds like pump and injectors may need replacing which could explain the costs Alex

The failed in-tank pump Censored up the HP pump. To be sure of removing all bits from the system its the expensive option. Means rebuild of HP fuel side using new components. Bloody thing had better work well from now on. Big Cry 17 MY Corris Grey 4.4 VAB
