Piggin Sat Nav Routing

Right....sick of it now.....

Went from Chesterfield to Doncaster on Saturday..... put the postcode in.... it gives me a choice of routes.... I don't know where I am going so how the hell can I pick a route? I just want the fastest, from where I am..... I pick,one...off we go... gets on M1 - now even I know it's M1, M18, A1M if I'm honest, but no, it wants to come off the next junction to Sheffield.... I just want the fastest route, all it will do is doggedly put me on the chosen route.... I get on M18... it want off at J1, to go the other route....but J2 is the Doncaster exit....I get towards J2 and it want to stay on M18 towards Hull..... what the hell.... I get on the A1M and it finally figures it all out.....

So...can you just get the fastest route?

My 2005 tom tom is better at route planning....

there s an option on the nav that automatically uses the TMC to divert the route....switch this off and you should be ok...

Thanks Stan.

I don't think it's that... the issue is me, I picked a route I didn't want in the beginning, and no matter where I go, all it wants to do is divert back to it - which I understand, but I just want fastest route from where I am....don't think it will do that though....tom tom does, so does the iPhone...... not sure it will recalculate on the fly..... I could be using it all wrong of course.... I just find it hard work.....

The manual talks about turning dynamic routing on and off with voice commands, but doesn't really explain how it works...... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8
