United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black

There is some disagreement over what is the correct size and what will work.

The ones I ordered from simply bearings are possibly the correct size, according the GraemeS, as the 9 x 1.8 are an aero size. However I have yet to change them (and have now lost them) as it's not leaking yet....... as the 9x1.8 are a tight fit it would sound right that the 8.73 x 1.78 would be a better fit as the Pipework is likely to be metric and this is the correct size for 9mm spigot into a 12mm hole.

The link is above. Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Northern Ireland 2015 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Firenze Red

Guys, I've done a bit of homework on these, as previous posts, I was unsure of the size & material.

BS611 is a 8.73mm (ID Inside Diameter) x 1.78mm CS (Cross section) 'O' Ring.
Nitrile goes up to 120 degrees C, whereas Viton goes 200 degrees C+.

My local bearing company quoted me £2.50 each, quick search on flee bay, £7.99 for a bag of 10 delivered Northern Ireland!

Not sure if I'm allowed to put on the link, but worth a search for 'BS611 viton O ring'

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222391942006

I will take photos when they arrive & update when fitted.

Hope this is some help to people in future.

Great forum as usual!

Does anyone know if this repair would be covered by LR Extended Warranty?

A great offer Emirates777 - thanks. However if the o-rings have been upgraded to Viton then they should withstand the heat for a far greater time.

The pipe is the top one in the picture.

Hi all I am just about to do this, I spoke to LR today to get a torque wrench setting for bolt that secures the union HS4

It is torqued up to 10Nm.

Hope this helps

I replaced my O rings last night and in the process noticed that there is oil in my coolant, so it looks like I'll have to replace the oil cooler too.

Does anyone know of an effective way of removing the oil from the coolant?

I know it'll need replaced, but how can you tell if all of the oil has been removed and what's the process?

Thanks,
Mike

I used those suggested by Barry earlier in the thread: BS611 is a 8.73mm (ID Inside Diameter) x 1.78mm CS (Cross section) 'O' Ring.

Pack of 10 for £8 delivered next day.

They were tight to fit, but after a bit of lube the connector went back in with a satisfying plop Shocked

....it was then i noticed the oil in the coolant Big Cry

I should add that to protect the O rings, i taped up the first groove so the ring slipped over to the second groove.

Mpirie, good tip about taping first groove.
My packet of 10 have arrived today, but just checked again and still dry. At least I will be able to replace them when needed.
I was a bit surprised at their size, from looking at the pictures, I was thinking they would be bigger. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

Lol, don't worry, I have 8 spares Rolling with laughter

Just about to start replacing the oil cooler since it''s either the cooler or the gaskets that''s letting oil into my coolant Big Cry
